The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a bilingual Arabic Scientific AI Safety Reviewer to evaluate advanced AI models across specialized scientific topics. You will write expert-level prompts in Arabic, review model responses, and classify prompts and conversations using structured guidelines.

The work requires sound judgment around dual-use information, scientific safety, security, biosafety, biosecurity, and hazardous materials. Prior AI or machine-learning experience is not required because workflow training is provided.

What You'll Do

You will combine scientific subject-matter knowledge with careful evaluation and writing. Your work will help improve how AI models handle technical Arabic content and sensitive scientific questions.

• Write expert-level Arabic prompts across specialized scientific topics
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy and helpfulness
• Assess whether responses handle sensitive content appropriately
• Classify prompts and conversations according to structured guidelines
• Review chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and other dual-use topics
• Use scientific expertise to strengthen model performance on technical Arabic content

Required Qualifications

This role requires PhD-level knowledge and strong written communication in both Arabic and English. Applicants should be able to evaluate technical content precisely and make careful decisions about scientific safety and sensitive information.

• Ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field
• Native or near-native Arabic fluency
• Business-level written English
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory or computational techniques in a relevant subfield
• Ability to write accurately about chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear topics in Arabic
• Strong judgment regarding scientific safety, security, biosafety, biosecurity, and hazardous materials
• Ability to evaluate technical content for accuracy, helpfulness, and sensitive-content handling
• Prior AI or machine-learning experience is not required; workflow training is provided

Helpful Scientific Background

Experience in a relevant scientific specialty can support success, particularly where it involves technical content, laboratory practice, computational methods, or safety and security considerations.
