About AI training and why it matters
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building artificial intelligence: people prepare, annotate, and review examples that models learn from. It's a flexible, fast-growing way to work in tech.
This role contributes directly to datasets used to train and evaluate AI systems. Contributors can work remotely, set part-time hours, and learn skills useful across software and machine-learning projects.
The role
We are hiring an AI Data Annotation Specialist to perform accurate, expert annotations on programming-related datasets and related content. This is a contractor, part-time position with a time expectation of less than 20 hours per week.
Applicants must be Indian nationals based in India and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. The role favors candidates with prior annotation experience and an expert-level attention to detail.
Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
Workload: Less than 20 hours/week
Location requirement: Indian nationals based in India (remote)
Compensation: Fixed payment of USD 10 (as posted)
What you'll do
You will create and validate labels for AI training datasets focused on computer code and related materials. Tasks may include reviewing code snippets, tagging programming constructs, and collecting or annotating supporting text, image, or audio assets when required.
Accuracy, consistent application of labeling guidelines, and meeting deadlines are core to success in this role.
Annotate and label programming/code examples according to project guidelines.
Perform data collection and basic verification tasks for text, image, or audio assets when requested.
Follow detailed instructions, apply consistent labels, and report ambiguous cases.
Meet quality targets and delivery deadlines for assigned batches.
Requirements
Candidates must meet all listed requirements; we do not invent or assume additional qualifications.
This is an expert-level annotation role that requires both domain-relevant education and strong practical skills.
Nationality and location: Indian nationals based in India (required).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (required).
Experience: Prior annotation experience preferred; role is designated Expert level.
Skills: Detail-oriented, basic computer skills, reliable time-management, and ability to meet deadlines.
Tools: You should be comfortable working with web-based annotation tools and following written guidelines (specific software provided when you start).
