The Role

OpenTrain AI is hiring a PDF Document Annotation Specialist for structured information extraction work. You will review PDF pages, draw precise bounding boxes around document elements, classify annotated content, preserve reading order, and handle complex layouts with consistency.

This is an entry-level, part-time contractor opportunity requiring 20 or more hours per week. The rate is $3 USD per hour.

What You'll Do

You will complete detailed PDF annotation tasks according to project guidelines. Accuracy, consistency, and careful judgment are essential, especially when documents contain multiple structures or unclear cases.

• Draw precise bounding boxes around text blocks, tables, figures, captions, headers, and key-value structures.
• Classify annotated elements according to project guidelines.
• Preserve correct reading order and logical document structure.
• Annotate complex layouts, including multi-column text, forms, tables, and rotated pages.
• Apply annotation instructions consistently and flag unclear cases or guideline gaps.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow data security expectations.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in any field is required, with preference for candidates from technology, engineering, or data-related disciplines. Previous annotation experience is preferred but the role is listed at entry level.

You should be comfortable following detailed rules and maintaining accuracy through repetitive annotation work. Experience with annotation tools or platforms is helpful but not required.

• Experience annotating documents with bounding boxes and classification rules.
• Ability to explain ambiguous cases and follow complex guidelines.
• Familiarity with data annotation or labeling workflows.
