The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting an AI Coding Evaluation Software Developer to support training work focused on practical software problems. You will use reinforcement learning environments, code solutions, and technical submissions to help AI systems learn from structured human expertise and clear written feedback.

Prior AI training experience is not required. The most important qualification is strong real-world knowledge of software development and the ability to assess technical work consistently.

What You'll Do

You will develop practical coding tasks and evaluate technical submissions with an emphasis on correctness, clarity, reproducibility, and reliable implementation. Your work will contribute both code and expert feedback to AI training workflows.

• Create reproducible reinforcement learning environments for practical software problems.
• Develop golden reference solutions for code fixes and small feature-development tasks.
• Contribute code samples and effective debugging approaches.
• Build small to medium features using clean, working implementations.
• Improve code readability and reliability.
• Document your technical reasoning and code decisions.
• Review peer-contributed code and technical submissions for correctness and clarity.

Requirements

This role is listed at the entry level, but it requires at least one year of hands-on experience with software development or coding evaluation. Your experience may be professional, academic, or practical.

• At least one year of hands-on experience with Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and everyday software engineering practices.
• Ability to debug unfamiliar codebases, identify root causes, and implement clean, reliable fixes.
• Ability to create reproducible coding environments and golden reference solutions for practical software problems.
• Strong written communication, technical documentation, and code review skills.
• Ability to follow detailed project instructions and assess technical work consistently.
• Interest in AI and its technical challenges is helpful, but prior AI experience is not required.
