Why AI training matters for healthcare

AI training is the human side of building safe, useful clinical models. Nurses who annotate, evaluate, and correct AI outputs directly shape clinical accuracy and patient-safety behavior in healthcare systems.

This work is at the intersection of clinical expertise and data science: your bedside knowledge improves model benchmarks, reduces clinical risk, and helps create tools that support real-world care.

The role — what an Adult Inpatient Nurse Clinical AI Reviewer does

You will apply your adult inpatient nursing experience to review AI-generated clinical outputs tied to nursing flowsheet documentation, annotate assessment data, and rate model responses for accuracy and completeness.

  • Review AI-generated outputs against nursing flowsheet documentation and current documentation standards.
  • Annotate and structure inpatient nursing assessment data (DOCUMENT data type) for training datasets.
  • Perform evaluation rating and entity NER classification tasks to label clinical concepts and assessments.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential safety risks in AI responses and flag issues for review.
  • Write clarifying questions when guidance is ambiguous and help refine annotation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to improve model performance and support development of clinical benchmarks.

Requirements — what you must have

This contract role requires active clinical credentials and recent bedside experience in adult inpatient acute care.

  • Active RN license issued in the U.S. (applicants from California are excluded).
  • Recent adult acute-care inpatient bedside nursing experience with comprehensive assessments.
  • Practical familiarity with nursing flowsheet documentation and bedside documentation practices.
  • Ability to follow detailed annotation guidelines consistently and provide clear written feedback.
  • Excellent written communication and responsiveness to feedback.
  • Preferred: experience with Epic EHR, chart review, utilization review, CDI, clinical informatics, or prior healthcare AI work.

Commitment, pay, and employment type

This is a part-time contractor role requiring 20+ hours per week. Compensation is hourly and paid in USD.

  • Employment type: Contractor (part-time).
  • Expected time: 20+ hours/week.
  • Pay: $55–$65 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR, USD).
  • Work location: U.S.-based applicants only; active RN license must be issued outside California.

How to apply and what to expect
