About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Experts review model outputs, write high-quality examples, compare responses, and provide feedback that helps AI systems become more accurate, useful, and safe.

In healthcare-focused projects, qualified professionals bring essential clinical judgment to tasks such as evaluating medical reasoning, identifying unsafe recommendations, and creating reliable reference answers.

  • Remote work using a computer and internet connection
  • Flexible part-time opportunities designed to fit different schedules
  • Directly influence how cutting-edge AI systems respond to healthcare questions

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Nurse Subject Matter Expert to review AI-generated nursing and clinical-care responses. You will assess clinical reasoning, triage, escalation, medication safety, patient education, infection control, and care planning, then provide precise written feedback and gold-standard explanations when needed.

The role also involves rating and comparing multiple AI responses for correctness, clarity, contextual relevance, and adherence to the prompt. This is hourly remote contractor work for an expert contributor available at least 20 hours per week.

  • Contractor, part-time engagement
  • Remote-first collaboration across time zones
  • Pay range of $40-$65 per hour
  • 20+ hours per week
  • English-language work

What You'll Do

You will apply professional nursing judgment to determine whether AI-generated content is clinically sound, safe, and appropriately explained. Your work will help distinguish reliable nursing guidance from responses that contain errors, omissions, weak reasoning, or unsafe recommendations.

  • Review AI-generated nursing and clinical-care answers for accuracy, safety, and clarity
  • Identify errors in assessment, triage, escalation, medication safety, patient education, infection control, and care planning
  • Fact-check healthcare information and explain correct nursing reasoning
  • Write high-quality model answers and expert healthcare content across nursing topics
  • Compare multiple responses and judge which is safer and more correct
  • Check internal consistency in timelines, symptoms, monitoring frequency, and nursing-level dosing logic

Requirements

This role requires an RN or equivalent nursing qualification with active licensure, registration, or eligibility in at least one jurisdiction. Candidates should bring substantial clinical experience and be comfortable making nursing-level judgments about assessment, prioritization, handoffs, triage, and escalation.

A minimum C1 level of English proficiency is required for reviewing nuanced clinical content and writing clear expert feedback.

  • RN or equivalent nursing credential with active licensure, registration, or eligibility
  • 3 to 5+ years of professional nursing experience in a clinical or community setting
  • Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and handoff skills
  • Solid understanding of common disease processes and nursing interventions across acute and outpatient settings
  • Clinical assessment, triage, and escalation judgment at the nursing level
  • Experience with medication safety, infection control, and patient education
  • Ability to fact-check AI-generated clinical content for safety and correctness

Preferred Background

Experience working at the intersection of healthcare content and quality review is strongly preferred. Familiarity with structured clinical communication and careful review of patient-care details will help you evaluate whether model responses are internally consistent and clinically appropriate.

  • AI data training experience
  • Clinical documentation review
  • Utilization review
  • Nursing education
  • Healthcare editorial quality assurance
  • Experience with SBAR documentation
  • Familiarity with medication safety, infection control, and patient education

Who Should Apply

Apply if you are an experienced nurse who enjoys careful clinical reasoning, precise written communication, and improving the quality of healthcare information. This opportunity is suited to professionals who can evaluate multiple answers objectively, explain why one response is safer or more correct, and contribute consistently for 20 or more hours each week.

  • Expert-level nursing professionals
  • Clinicians comfortable reviewing acute and outpatient care scenarios
  • Nurses interested in contributing to the future of AI
  • Candidates located in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, the United States, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam
