The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking a Finance and Accounting Task Author to design expert-level accounting reconciliation tasks for training and evaluating advanced AI agents. You will create realistic scenarios, write precise scoring rubrics, configure task environments, and calibrate difficulty to challenge capable models.
This is a fully remote, flexible contractor position with part-time availability of 20 or more hours per week. Compensation is listed at $60–$120 USD per hour.

What You'll Do
You will turn authentic accounting and finance scenarios into structured tasks that can be solved and assessed consistently. Each task must include clear reasoning expectations and verifiable outcomes.
Write scoring rubrics with exact numerical outcomes and required reasoning steps
Set up task environments containing financial data, documents, and system states
Solve each task yourself to validate correctness and calibrate difficulty
Review and correct AI-drafted task prompts or rubrics when provided
Required Qualifications
This role is best suited to someone with hands-on accounting or finance-analysis experience and strong numerical reasoning. You should be comfortable working through multi-step reconciliation problems and translating professional judgment into objective evaluation criteria.
Hands-on experience as an accountant, finance analyst, or in a similar role
Knowledge of revenue recognition principles, matching rules, and accounting workflows
Ability to define verifiable correctness criteria using exact figures
Comfort with financial documents, spreadsheets, and accounting system outputs
Iterative mindset for testing and refining tasks
CA Singapore, ACCA, or CPA qualification preferred
Helpful Background
Additional experience may be valuable when developing realistic enterprise finance scenarios, although the core requirement is practical accounting or finance expertise.
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or enterprise B2B finance in APAC
Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
