About AI Training and Video Annotation

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People review and label examples so modern AI systems can learn to understand visual information, evaluate outcomes, and behave more reliably. In this project, your annotations will focus on robotic arms completing assigned tasks.

Video annotation work is detail-oriented, analytical, and directly connected to machine learning data preparation. Contributors help create consistent, structured datasets that support the development of robotics AI systems.

The Role

As a Video Annotation Specialist, you will review videos of robotic arms performing assigned tasks, identify important actions and outcomes, and apply detailed grading guidelines to evaluate and annotate events. You will record structured observations in annotation platforms, communicate project updates, and help maintain consistent standards across the dataset.

This is an intermediate contractor opportunity expected to run for 3 to 6 months. The role requires fluent English and is available to candidates based in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, or Germany.

  • Contractor engagement
  • Expected project duration: 3 to 6 months
  • Pay: $50-$90 USD per hour, with a listed rate of $70 USD per hour
  • Language: English
  • Experience level: Intermediate
  • Eligible locations: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Germany

What You'll Do

You will assess visual data carefully and turn video observations into accurate, structured annotations. The work combines independent review, collaboration, documentation, and quality control.

  • Review videos of robotic arms performing assigned tasks.
  • Identify important actions, events, and outcomes in each video.
  • Apply detailed grading guidelines to tag and annotate events.
  • Record structured observations using annotation platforms.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve ambiguous cases.
  • Document findings and communicate progress and challenges.
  • Submit datasets against project milestones.
  • Participate in quality reviews to maintain consistent annotation standards.

Requirements and Preferred Background

Applicants should have experience with video annotation, data labeling, or similar data-centric projects. Success in this role requires exceptional accuracy when reviewing visual data, strong organization, and an analytical approach to resolving challenges.

A background in AI training, machine learning data preparation, or robotics is strongly preferred. Applicants should also be comfortable discussing relevant experience as a Video Annotation Specialist.

  • Experience with video annotation, data labeling, or similar data-centric projects
  • Strong accuracy and exceptional attention to detail
  • Familiarity with video annotation tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Time management and self-organization
  • Ability to collaborate and resolve ambiguities analytically
  • Relevant robotics AI training and task performance experience
  • Fluent English proficiency
  • Ability to discuss relevant Video Annotation Specialist experience

Why Work in AI Training

AI training is a fast-growing way to work in technology without needing to build an entire AI system yourself. Contributors review examples, assess model-related data, and provide the human judgment that helps advanced systems improve.

Many AI training projects offer remote, flexible work that can fit around other commitments. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge robotics AI while applying your visual review and data-quality skills.
