About AI Training and Video Annotation
AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. People review, label, and evaluate real-world examples so AI systems can learn to recognize actions, understand outcomes, and perform more reliably.
In this role, your careful review of robotic-arm videos will contribute structured observations and evaluation data for next-generation AI systems. The work is remote and flexible, making it a practical way to contribute to cutting-edge technology.
Help prepare high-quality data for AI systems
Work with visual data from real-world robotic tasks
Apply detailed guidelines to support consistent model evaluation
The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an intermediate Video Annotation Specialist to review and annotate footage of robotic arms performing designated tasks. You will identify key actions and outcomes, rate video events according to detailed grading guidelines, and submit structured observations through video annotation tools.
This is a remote, part-time contractor role requiring 20+ hours per week. Fluent English proficiency is required. No prior AI experience is required, although experience with AI training projects, evaluation rating tasks, machine learning data preparation, or robotics projects is strongly preferred.
Role type: Contractor and part-time
Location: Remote and worldwide
Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
Experience level: Intermediate
Expected duration: 6+ months
Compensation: $50-$90 per hour
Language requirement: Fluent English
What You'll Do
You will assess video sessions of robotic arms and transform what you observe into accurate, structured training data. The project requires careful application of grading standards, clear documentation, and timely communication with project trainers and other contributors.
Review video footage of robotic arms executing assigned tasks.
Identify key actions and outcomes within video sessions.
Apply detailed grading guidelines to tag and annotate events accurately.
Use video annotation tools and platforms to record structured observations.
Document findings and submit annotated datasets according to project standards and milestones.
Communicate progress, challenges, and insights through written and verbal channels as required.
Collaborate with project trainers and contributors to resolve ambiguities.
Participate in quality reviews, address feedback, and maintain high annotation standards.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
You should be comfortable reviewing visual data independently, following precise instructions, and communicating clearly when an annotation decision is unclear. Your domain knowledge and ability to work consistently are central to the quality of the project.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing and tagging visual data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated time management and self-organization.
Familiarity with video annotation tools and software platforms.
Experience with video annotation, data labeling, or similar annotation projects.
Experience with evaluation rating tasks.
Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Proactive approach to resolving annotation challenges.
Background in AI training, machine learning data preparation, or robotics projects is strongly preferred.
