About AI Training and Data Labeling
AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Specialists review examples, evaluate model outputs, write feedback, and prepare accurate training data so AI systems can become more reliable, useful, and safe.
In this project, your software engineering judgment will help evaluate code and feedback used in TypeScript-focused AI training. The work is remote and can provide a direct way to apply technical expertise to a fast-growing field.
Contribute to the development of AI systems through expert evaluation
Use flexible remote work to fit projects around your schedule
Apply engineering judgment to cutting-edge AI training workflows
The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an intermediate TypeScript Quality Assurance Lead for an hourly, part-time remote contractor opportunity. You will review AI-generated TypeScript code and trainer QA work for correctness, type safety, runtime behavior, debugging accuracy, readability, maintainability, performance, security awareness, test coverage, formatting, and rubric adherence.
You will also provide precise written feedback, identify recurring quality issues, support contributor onboarding, maintain project documentation, and help keep remote contributors aligned on standards across TypeScript AI training projects.
Pay: Up to $70 per hour
Location: United States
Schedule: 20+ hours per week
Engagement: Part-time contractor
Working language: English
What You'll Do
You will combine detailed code review with quality operations and contributor support. Your reviews should help ensure that TypeScript training data is accurate, executable, logically sound, and clearly explained.
Review AI-generated TypeScript code, type definitions, debugging responses, implementation explanations, frontend and backend snippets, tests, and step-by-step reasoning.
Evaluate submissions against project guidelines and project-specific rubrics, then provide clear written feedback.
Monitor quality, escalate recurring or critical issues, and improve consistency across trainers and QAs.
Communicate project updates, workflow changes, and review standards to remote contributors.
Support onboarding, documentation, FAQs, trackers, examples, calibration tasks, and other quality materials.
Help identify inactive contributors, track follow-ups, and strengthen quality operations for evolving projects.
Requirements
This role requires strong TypeScript development experience and the ability to evaluate both code quality and technical explanations. You should be comfortable identifying subtle issues in implementation, runtime behavior, and reasoning while communicating your conclusions clearly in English.
Strong TypeScript knowledge, including types, interfaces, generics, unions, narrowing, and strict mode
Practical experience with JavaScript runtime behavior, Node.js, and modern frontend or backend tooling
Experience with code review, software QA, technical mentoring, or related engineering workflows
Ability to assess type safety, logic correctness, asynchronous behavior, edge cases, security risks, and maintainability
Clear English communication for technical feedback and team coordination
Familiarity with AI training, rubric-based evaluation, prompt or response evaluation, or code QA workflows
Experience coordinating remote teams, documentation, and quality processes is strongly preferred
Who Should Apply
This opportunity is suited to an experienced TypeScript professional who enjoys reviewing technical work, spotting subtle defects, and helping other contributors improve. It may be a strong fit if you can pair hands-on engineering knowledge with careful evaluation, documentation, mentoring, and quality coordination.
TypeScript developers with strong software quality instincts
Engineers experienced in code review or technical QA
Technical mentors who give precise, constructive feedback
Professionals interested in applying software expertise to AI training
Contributors comfortable working remotely for 20+ hours each week
