About AI Training and Video Data Collection
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People create and review examples that help modern AI systems understand the real world, including visual data collected from everyday environments.
In this role, your recordings will provide realistic video input for AI systems. Your attention to camera placement, stability, visibility, and safety will help produce consistent data for next-generation models.
Work remotely with a computer or phone and an internet connection as needed for project coordination
Contribute to cutting-edge AI development
No prior AI experience is required
The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Third-Person Video Recorder to collect naturalistic video across indoor, outdoor, and vehicle environments. You will record yourself completing everyday activities from a consistent exocentric, or third-person, perspective.
The work combines ordinary movement and navigation tasks with precise camera placement, stable framing, and reliable recording quality. This is an entry-level contractor role for contributors who can consistently follow detailed recording and safety instructions.
Employment type: Contractor and part-time
Experience level: Entry level
Schedule: 20+ hours per week
Data type: Video data collection
What You'll Do
You will create continuous video clips that show your full body and relevant surroundings while completing assigned activities. Recordings must meet the required duration, resolution, camera angle, and visibility standards.
Some assignments may involve vehicle navigation or driving-related recordings. When completing these tasks, you must use a camera securely mounted to the vehicle and follow all applicable safety requirements.
Record natural everyday activities in indoor and outdoor environments
Capture walking, movement, and other real-world activities
Keep your full body and relevant surroundings visible
Record vehicle navigation and driving-related activities when assigned
Produce continuous clips that are at least 60 seconds long
Record at a minimum resolution of 720p
Position the camera above and behind you with a slightly downward angle
Maintain a stable third-person view during normal movement
Follow task-specific recording instructions and safety requirements
Requirements
You must have access to an action or 360-degree camera with at least a 170-degree field of view and 720p resolution. Compatible examples include Insta360 X3, X4, X5, or X6, DJI Osmo 360, GoPro MAX, GoPro MAX2, or an equivalent camera.
You should be able to configure a stable above-and-behind setup and use an appropriate backpack, harness, extension system, or vehicle mount when required. Careful attention to framing, stability, resolution, clip length, and environmental visibility is essential.
Access to an action or 360-degree camera with at least 170-degree FOV
Camera resolution of at least 720p
Ability to configure a stable above-and-behind third-person setup
Ability to maintain full-body and environmental visibility during movement
Ability to securely mount and operate a camera for vehicle recordings
Ability to follow recording, clip-length, framing, resolution, and safety instructions consistently
Helpful Experience
Experience with third-person camera rigs, backpack mounts, vehicle mounts, action cameras, or 360-degree cameras may help you begin assignments sooner. A compatible backpack or vehicle mount is beneficial, but the essential requirement is access to a camera that meets the field-of-view and resolution standards.
Third-person camera rig experience
Backpack or harness-mounted camera experience
Vehicle-mounted camera experience
Familiarity with action or 360-degree cameras
