  • Remote contract work with flexible weekly scheduling
  • Free OpenTrain account and a streamlined application process
  • Opportunities to build experience in the growing AI training industry

About AI Voice Training

AI voice systems learn from carefully recorded human speech. Contributors help improve text-to-speech technology by providing clear, natural, and expressive samples that teach models how pronunciation, pacing, tone, and emotion should sound.

In this project, your recordings will support a next-generation text-to-speech system and a customer experience AI agent. The work includes voice cloning, so you must be comfortable with your voice being used for that purpose.

  • Contribute directly to the development of modern speech AI
  • Record conversational, narrative, and instructional material
  • Use your Swiss German language skills in specialized AI training work

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Swiss German voice recording specialist based in Switzerland. You will record high-quality samples across varied scripts and vocal styles while maintaining consistent pronunciation, accent, tone, and delivery throughout the project.

This is an entry-level contractor and part-time opportunity for someone with the language ability, recording environment, and vocal control needed to produce reliable training data.

  • Pay: $50 to $150 per hour
  • Schedule: 5 to 10 hours per week
  • Time requirement: Less than 20 hours per week
  • Work arrangement: Remote
  • Location requirement: Must be based in Switzerland
  • Engagement: Part-time contractor

What You'll Do

You will create voice recordings that are clear, natural, expressive, and technically consistent. Detailed project instructions will guide the recording environment, microphone setup, and file formatting.

  • Record high-quality Swiss German samples from diverse scripts
  • Produce conversational, narrative, and instructional speech
  • Control tone, pacing, pronunciation, intonation, diction, and emotional range
  • Maintain a consistent voice, accent, and delivery across sessions
  • Follow recording guidelines for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting
  • Complete multiple takes with varied emotion, emphasis, and style when requested
  • Follow scripts precisely while keeping your delivery natural

Requirements

Applicants must be native Swiss German speakers currently based in Switzerland and able to deliver clear, expressive recordings. You should have access to a professional or near-professional recording setup and be reliably available throughout the project.

  • Native Swiss German speaker with clear diction
  • Current residence in Switzerland
  • Professional or near-professional microphone and recording setup
  • Quiet recording environment and pop filter
  • Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
  • Ability to follow scripts accurately with natural delivery
  • Reliable availability for 5 to 10 hours per week
  • Comfort with your voice being cloned for the customer experience AI agent

Helpful Background

Previous audio experience is helpful but not required. Candidates who have worked with voice production or audio editing may be especially well prepared for the project.

  • Experience recording for text-to-speech projects
  • Audiobook recording experience
  • IVR or similar voice system recording experience
  • Prior work with AI voice datasets
  • Familiarity with Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, or comparable audio tools
  • Ability to deliver conversational, corporate, energetic, and calm vocal styles

How to Apply

Create a free OpenTrain account and apply through OpenTrain. Review the project requirements carefully before applying, particularly the Switzerland location requirement, recording setup expectations, weekly availability, and voice-cloning terms.

  • Confirm that you are a native Swiss German speaker
  • Verify that you are currently based in Switzerland
  • Ensure your recording environment meets the project requirements
  • Share relevant TTS, audiobook, IVR, AI dataset, or audio editing experience
  • Confirm availability for 5 to 10 hours per week
