The role: Studio Voice Recorder

OpenTrain is recruiting a remote contractor to perform scripted read‑aloud voice recording for AI training and evaluation. This role focuses on delivering consistent, natural-sounding spoken audio from a home studio and collaborating with project managers and audio engineers on revisions and quality.

• Employment type: Contractor, part time.
• Time commitment: 20+ hours per week.
• Data type: Audio (scripted read-aloud).
• Label task: Audio recording (AUDIO_RECORDING).
• Payment: Hourly pay in USD; range $30–$50/hr (rate listing includes $50/hr).

What you'll do

• Read scripts aloud with precision, natural pacing, and consistent tone.
• Produce high-quality audio recordings from your home studio environment.
• Operate and maintain studio microphones and related equipment; perform basic troubleshooting.
• Respond to feedback from project managers and audio engineers and revise takes as requested.
• Deliver recordings on schedule and follow a reliable file-naming and upload workflow.

Requirements

• Proven experience with scripted read‑aloud delivery and voice work.
• Dependable home studio setup able to produce consistent, high-quality audio.
• Practical microphone operation skills and basic audio troubleshooting ability.
• Strong neutral or clear English pronunciation and diction (English required).
• Clear written and verbal communication, reliability, and self-motivation.

Helpful background

• Professional experience as a voice artist, studio speaker, or audiobook narrator.
• Broadcasting, narration, or audiobook production experience.
• Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and audio editing software (useful but not required).

How the process works
