About AI Training Work
AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work behind how modern AI learns. Annotators prepare examples—like captions, action labels, and ratings—that help models understand video, language, and behavior. This is a fast-growing, remote-friendly field with flexible schedules and many ways to get started.
The Role
We’re hiring annotators for a Soccer Captioning project. You will watch short soccer video clips, identify gameplay actions using a predefined taxonomy, and write clear 1–2 sentence captions describing the action. This project combines precise video annotation with concise English writing.
Work type: Contractor, part-time. Data type: video. Label types: action recognition, emotion recognition, evaluation rating.(project uses a custom or third-party annotation tool). This project accepts contributors worldwide.
- Pay: USD 3.50 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR).
- Time requirement: Less than 20 hours/week; schedules are flexible and remote.
What You'll Do
Perform consistent, guideline-driven annotation of short soccer clips and write concise captions that accurately describe in-game actions.
- Watch short video clips and assign primary action labels from the project taxonomy (e.g., pass, shot, tackle, celebration).
- Identify start and end timestamps for labeled actions.
- Write clear 1–2 sentence captions in good English describing the action and relevant context.
- Tag emotion or reaction labels where required (crowd/celebration/reaction labels).
- Follow structured instructions closely to ensure high-quality, consistent labels.
Requirements
You must meet the project’s substantive requirements and be prepared to confirm them during the screening.
- Solid understanding of soccer: either active playing experience or strong familiarity with rules, gameplay, positions, and common terminology.
- Good English writing skills and grammar; able to produce concise, accurate 1–2 sentence captions.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow structured annotation guidelines.
- Basic technical readiness: a computer or smartphone, stable internet connection, and the ability to describe your hardware/internet setup during screening.
- Intermediate experience level is preferred; previous video annotation experience is helpful but not required.
- You must confirm acceptance of the stated pay rate (USD 3.50/hr) during screening.
Interview & Screening
Candidates complete an automated screening that takes about 10 minutes. The screening verifies soccer knowledge, English clarity, attention to detail, availability, technical readiness, and acceptance of the pay rate.
- Screening questions include: personal & logistics (name, location/time zone, hardware/internet), weekly availability and confirmation of pay rate, soccer experience, a caption-writing sample based on a short scenario, and an opportunity to ask questions.
- Example caption task: identify primary action label(s) from {pass, shot, tackle, celebration}, provide start/end timestamps, and write a clear 1–2 sentence caption for the clip.
- After the screening you will be thanked and notified of next steps; candidates typically receive feedback within five business days.
