About This Role

We are recruiting a Spanish Language Expert based in Spain to review and improve machine‑generated Spanish (Spain) transcriptions and add linguistic metadata. This is a contractor, task‑based role appropriate for entry‑level contributors and language professionals alike; prior AI experience is not required.

Work is remote and task oriented; you will help ensure linguistic accuracy and high data quality for audio datasets used to train speech and language models.

What You'll Do

• Review and correct machine‑generated Spanish (Spain) transcriptions for accuracy, fluency, and orthography
• Add precise metadata tags and linguistic annotations to audio and text (including entity/NER labels)
• Validate transcriptions and annotation quality with strong attention to detail
• Flag and resolve language ambiguities in collaboration with the project team
• Identify inconsistencies and suggest improvements to annotation guidelines and processes

Requirements

• Fluent Spanish (Spain) with outstanding linguistic intuition
• Demonstrated experience in transcription, annotation, or applying metadata tags to language data
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in remote, multicultural environments
• Ability to critically assess and correct machine‑generated linguistic output
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and meeting strict deadlines
• Proficient with digital tools for language data management

Helpful Background

• Experience as an audio engineer, data annotator, or professional transcriber
• Familiarity with AI transcription tools and language technology
• Academic or practical background in linguistics or a related field

Pay, Schedule & Logistics

This is an hourly contractor role paid per task rather than per tracked hours. The OpenTrain budget reflects an equivalent range of $10 to $20 USD per hour; actual payment is issued per task according to project rates.

You will be expected to manage your own hours and meet project deadlines. Exact task assignments, turnaround expectations, and tools will be provided when you join the project.
