The Sociology Quality Assurance Lead Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an intermediate-level Sociology Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality and consistency across sociology-focused AI training projects. You will review AI-generated sociology explanations, research summaries, social policy discussions, and trainer or QA submissions.

Your feedback will help ensure content is accurate, nuanced, ethically aware, and aligned with project rubrics. The work covers sociological theory, research methods, inequality, culture, social institutions, bias review, and evidence-aware reasoning.

• Contractor position with part-time status

What You’ll Do

You will combine subject-matter review with contributor support and quality operations. The role requires precise written communication, consistent application of detailed standards, and sound judgment when identifying issues in sociology content or review workflows.

• Review sociology content and trainer or QA work for accuracy, nuance, and rubric adherence
• Check theory application, methodological rigor, social context, and ethical reasoning
• Identify stereotyping, weak causal claims, unsupported generalizations, and other quality issues
• Provide clear written feedback and help maintain consistent standards across the team
• Support onboarding, documentation, FAQs, trackers, calibration tasks, and quality notes
• Communicate workflow updates and handle questions through remote collaboration tools
• Help activate contributors and escalate recurring or critical issues when needed

Requirements

Applicants should bring substantial sociology or closely related social science experience, along with the ability to assess AI-generated content against detailed rubrics. Strong written English is essential for feedback, documentation, and remote team coordination.

• Degree in Sociology, Social Sciences, Social Research, Demography, Criminology, Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, Public Policy, Anthropology, or a closely related field
• 3+ years of experience in sociology research, teaching, social policy analysis, review, or related workflows
• Strong understanding of sociological theory, institutions, inequality, culture, deviance, organizations, social change, demography, and research methods
• Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, social science QA, academic review, or rubric-based review
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated sociology content against detailed rubrics
• Experience giving precise written feedback on research or review work
• Familiarity with sociology research methods, bias review, and ethical reasoning
• Strong English communication skills
• Familiarity with Discord, Google Sheets, and Google Docs
