The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Social Sciences and Education AI Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across learning-focused AI training projects. The work combines subject matter judgment with structured quality leadership and requires careful attention to conceptual accuracy, research literacy, educational appropriateness, ethics, cultural context, bias sensitivity, and detailed rubrics.

You will review AI-generated explanations, lesson content, social science summaries, research methods material, educational activities, assessment items, learning guidance, and social reasoning. What You'll Do

You will support reliable, scalable quality workflows by reviewing content, assessing trainer and QA performance, communicating updates, and maintaining the documentation teams need to apply standards consistently.

The role also involves identifying subtle problems in educational and social science content, including unsupported generalizations, stereotyping, stigmatizing language, weak causal reasoning, flawed methodology, poor educational scaffolding, and ethically problematic material.

• Review social science and education items for conceptual, methodological, instructional, ethical, formatting, and policy issues.
• Evaluate trainer and QA work, provide precise written feedback, and escalate recurring or critical concerns.
• Communicate guideline updates and workflow changes to trainers and QAs through remote collaboration channels.
• Answer questions about pedagogy, learning objectives, research methods, social context, bias, student appropriateness, and rubric interpretation.
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, quality notes, examples, calibration tasks, onboarding materials, and project documentation.
• Run onboarding and training sessions, support consistent rubric application, and recommend process improvements.

Required Qualifications

You should bring strong expertise in education, sociology, psychology, anthropology, political science, social work, public policy, educational psychology, curriculum studies, or a related field. A bachelor's degree, master's degree, PhD, teaching credential, or equivalent professional experience is welcome.

At least three years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, social science research, educational content review, instructional design, academic writing, social policy, student assessment, or related review work is required. Strong English communication and the ability to write clear, actionable feedback are essential.

• Strong research literacy and the ability to evaluate methodology, causal claims, evidence quality, and conceptual accuracy
• Understanding of education theory, pedagogy, learning outcomes, assessment design, research methods, ethics, bias, culture, inequality, and evidence-based reasoning
• Ability to apply detailed rubrics and identify unsupported claims, stereotyping, biased framing, weak causal language, flawed methodology, and poor instructional design
• Ability to identify cultural overgeneralization, ethical concerns, and age-inappropriate educational material
• Ability to assess alignment among learning objectives, instructional activities, and assessment items
• Ability to calibrate reviewers and deliver actionable written feedback
