The role — Singaporean English Audio Language Expert

OpenTrain is hiring remote contractors to provide Singaporean English audio language expertise for AI model development. This part-time contractor role requires native-level Singaporean English fluency and involves recording, transcribing, annotating, and reviewing audio data.

Workload: 20+ hours per week. Employment type: contractor, part-time. Pay: hourly, up to USD 41/hr (hourly range shown $10–$41/hr). Projects use custom or other labeling software and focus on audio (recording and transcription) tasks. This is an entry-level friendly opportunity that values linguistic awareness and audio experience.

What you'll do

You will create and review speech data to improve AI understanding and generation in Singaporean English. Tasks emphasize accuracy, naturalness, and linguistic detail.

• Record high-quality Singaporean English audio samples to specified scripts and prompts
• Transcribe and annotate audio with careful attention to local pronunciation, slang, and nuance
• Evaluate AI-generated audio and transcripts for naturalness, pronunciation, and correctness
• Apply phonetic knowledge to flag and correct problematic audio or transcripts
• Follow project workflows, maintain task documentation, and share process feedback with the team

Requirements

Candidates must meet the role's core language and skills requirements exactly as listed below.

• Native-level fluency in Singaporean English
• Strong understanding of local nuances, slang, and pronunciation
• Experience in audio transcription, annotation, or data collection
• Familiarity with phonetics and linguistic analysis
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Helpful background (not mandatory)
