The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Simplified Chinese Audio Transcriptionist to produce detailed, accurate transcripts for AI speech and language systems. You will listen to spoken Chinese recordings and create verbatim Simplified Chinese transcripts that preserve the natural details of each conversation.
This is a worldwide, remote contractor and part-time opportunity for contributors available to work 20 or more hours per week. The pay range is $10 to $35 per hour.

What You'll Do
You will transcribe complex audio carefully and consistently, following detailed style guides and formatting conventions. The work requires close listening and sound judgment when speech is difficult to understand or when several people speak at once.
Listen to Chinese audio and produce accurate, verbatim Simplified Chinese transcripts
Identify and distinguish multiple speakers within each recording
Capture filled pauses, crosstalk, overlapping speech, false starts, and self-corrections
Handle background noise, low-quality recordings, accents, and varying speaking speeds
Apply transcription style guides and formatting conventions consistently
Flag unclear or unintelligible segments according to established protocols
Maintain high accuracy across varied audio content
Requirements
Native or near-native Simplified Chinese listening and writing fluency is required. You should be comfortable distinguishing speakers, interpreting complex audio, following detailed guidelines, and working independently with patience and precision.
A quiet workspace, reliable internet connection, and quality headphones are also required.
