OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help freelancers find and grow durable work in this fast-growing industry by consolidating opportunities, capturing proof-of-work, and letting contributors build a single portfolio they control.
OpenTrain is the hiring and contracting organization for this role.
We focus on real AI training work that helps shape state-of-the-art systems.
About AI training and why it matters
AI training (data labeling / human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Contributors annotate, review, and rate model outputs so models learn to produce accurate, safe, and useful responses. This work is accessible, often flexible, and provides a direct way to influence how AI behaves.
Typical benefits: flexible hours, entry paths without prior AI experience, and the chance to work on cutting-edge model behavior.
Tasks range from transcribing audio to reviewing model reasoning and producing reference responses used to train and evaluate models.
The role
OpenTrain is hiring a Senior Python AI Response Reviewer to evaluate AI-generated Python solutions and technical explanations. This is a contractor, part-time opportunity requiring deep, hands-on Python experience and strong technical communication in both English and Chinese.
You will focus on correctness, code quality, performance, architecture, and clear explanatory writing. Work product includes ratings, written feedback, reference implementations, and comparisons across multiple model responses.
Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
Time commitment: 20+ hours/week.
Pay: $60 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR).
Data type: Text; label types include RLHF, Evaluation Rating, and Text Generation.
What you'll do day-to-day
You will review AI-produced Python code and explanations, judge implementation quality, and produce exemplar solutions and clear step-by-step writeups. Ratings and feedback you provide will train and evaluate generative models and reviewer workflows.
Assess correctness, code quality, performance, and adherence to prompts.
Identify logic, architecture, methodology, and algorithmic errors.
Fact-check technical claims and improve explanatory clarity.
Write reference implementations and exemplary solutions demonstrating software engineering best practices.
Compare and rate multiple model responses for reasoning and implementation soundness.
Requirements
Candidates must meet all listed requirements. OpenTrain will rely on your technical judgement and bilingual communication when producing training data and reference content.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant hands-on Python production experience.
Deep knowledge of Python language features, the standard library, and common ecosystems (web frameworks, data tooling, backend services).
Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, system design, and performance optimization in Python applications.
Proven experience designing, reviewing, and improving high-quality Python codebases, including code review and mentoring responsibilities.
Minimum C1 English proficiency and C1 Chinese proficiency (written and spoken).
Comfortable with version control, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and containerization technologies.
Who should apply
This role is built for senior engineers who enjoy reading and improving code, writing clear technical explanations, and evaluating reasoning quality in model outputs. You should be comfortable producing high-quality reference code and coaching best practices through written feedback.
Senior Python engineers with production experience and prior code-review responsibilities.
Engineers who can write clear, teachable explanations in English and Chinese.
People who want to turn expert engineering work into reproducible training signals for models.
How it works
If selected, you'll complete task batches that include model responses, evaluation rubrics, and prompts. You will rate responses, write corrections or improved implementations, and provide clear rationale for your decisions. OpenTrain tracks contributions so you build a verifiable portfolio of AI training work.
Work is paid hourly at $60 USD/hour and charged per time worked.
Expect to work 20+ hours/week; schedule is flexible within contractor arrangements.
Eligible countries include: BD, BT, BR, KH, CN, DE, HK, IN, ID, MY, NP, PK, SG, LK, TW, TH, PH, US, TL, VN.
Join OpenTrain AI as a part-time Senior Python Code Reviewer to audit AI-generated Python snippets in containerized sandboxes; $18/hr, remote, under 20 hrs/week. Bring 7+ years of Python experience and mandatory Docker proficiency to validate correctness, security, and guideline compliance.
Join OpenTrain AI as a contractor to review, correct, and optimize auto-generated Python code for RLHF training; entry-level contributors with Python familiarity welcome and paid $50/hour. Work remotely and help shape higher-quality code suggestions from LLMs.
