OpenTrain is seeking a Senior Hospitalist Clinical Reviewer to support AI training through expert review of inpatient clinical cases and documentation. You will assess clinical quality, documentation accuracy, and appropriateness of care, then communicate nuanced medical reasoning in clear written feedback.
The role combines senior hospitalist judgment with consistent evaluation standards. You will work independently in a remote contractor setting while collaborating with the project team on difficult cases and review quality.

What You’ll Do
You will review inpatient cases and documentation carefully, identify cases requiring additional judgment, and provide decisions supported by clear clinical reasoning. Your work will also help strengthen the guidelines used for ongoing AI training.
Review inpatient cases for clinical quality, documentation accuracy, and appropriate care.
Identify unclear, complex, or unusual cases that require careful clinical judgment.
Provide clear written and verbal feedback explaining the reasoning behind review decisions.
Document findings and support conclusions with applicable clinical standards when needed.
Help improve review guidelines and standards used in AI training.
Work with the project team to clarify difficult cases and maintain consistent review quality.
Required Qualifications
This opportunity is designed for an experienced hospitalist physician with the clinical background needed to evaluate ambiguous inpatient situations and documentation decisions. Strong communication is essential because reviewers must explain conclusions clearly and consistently.
MD or DO degree
At least 10 years of attending-level hospitalist experience
Strong clinical judgment for complex or ambiguous inpatient cases
Experience with clinical quality, documentation review, medical auditing, hospital quality assurance, or related QA work
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote contractor setting
Helpful Background
Experience leading or contributing to inpatient quality, documentation improvement, coding, or medical audit programs is helpful. Familiarity with applying clinical standards to documentation and quality decisions will support effective case review.
