About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help people start and grow durable freelance careers teaching AI by consolidating projects, tracking work history, and building a unified portfolio across the industry.

Creating an OpenTrain account is free — once approved, you work directly with OpenTrain AI as a contractor on annotation and review projects that shape how modern AI systems behave.

  • OpenTrain connects contributors with short- and long-term AI training work across speech, text, and vision.
  • You apply, complete onboarding, and deliver work through OpenTrain’s project interface as a contractor.

About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or human-feedback work) is the human side of building AI: people create, check, and rate examples that modern models learn from. This industry is fast-growing, remote-friendly, and ideal for flexible, part-time work.

Contributors directly influence model quality by validating transcripts, speaker labels, timestamps, and other metadata that determine whether outputs meet strict acceptance standards.

  • Work is 100% remote and often flexible around your schedule.
  • Many projects require no prior experience beyond language fluency and attention to detail; specialized tasks pay more for expertise.

The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting Russian Audio Transcription Reviewers to evaluate AI-generated transcriptions and diarization for multi-channel conversational audio. This evaluation-grade role focuses on verbatim fidelity, speaker separation, timestamps, JSON-formatted outputs, and alignment quality.

You will judge complex conversational phenomena — overlaps, interruptions, false starts, and disfluencies — against strict, unnormalized verbatim rules and accept/reject thresholds.

  • Hours: 20+ hours/week (contractor, part-time).
  • Location: Remote — worldwide contributors welcome.
  • Experience level: Entry level — experience with ASR review is highly relevant but not strictly required.
  • Primary language: Russian (fluent or native required).
  • Data type: Audio; label types: Transcription and Evaluation/Rating.

What You’ll Do

Your day-to-day work is focused on careful listening, comparison, and metadata validation. You’ll receive AI outputs and the source audio, then apply clear criteria to determine whether each transcription meets acceptance standards.

  • Review AI transcription and diarization outputs for Russian multi-speaker audio.
  • Validate turn-level and word-level timestamps and alignment logic.
  • Confirm correct speaker identification and diarization segmentation.
  • Ensure unnormalized speech is preserved (overlaps, false starts, disfluencies).
  • Inspect JSON-formatted outputs and metadata tagging for consistency and accuracy.
  • Identify and document transcription, segmentation, diarization, and speaker attribution errors.

Requirements

Candidates must be precise listeners with strong judgment about verbatim transcription and timestamp accuracy. The role requires familiarity with conversational audio complexities and comfort working to strict accuracy standards.

  • Fluent or native Russian proficiency.
  • Strong ear for audio fidelity and subtle speech detail (background noise, channel bleed, clipping).
  • Careful judgment for verbatim transcription, timestamp validation, and diarization review.
  • Experience evaluating ASR or AI-generated transcription quality is highly relevant.
  • Comfort working with unnormalized conversational speech and strict verbatim rules.

Who Should Apply

Apply if you’re fluent in Russian, enjoy detailed listening tasks, and want flexible remote contract work that contributes directly to building better speech AI. This role is suitable for entry-level contributors with relevant listening or ASR review experience and for more experienced reviewers seeking evaluation-focused tasks.

  • Ideal for people who can distinguish subtle speech phenomena and enforce strict transcription fidelity.
  • Good fit for freelancers, students, or professionals seeking 20+ hours/week of remote contract work.
  • Worldwide applicants accepted — you must be able to work independently and follow detailed guidelines.

How It Works

After applying through OpenTrain, you’ll complete onboarding and sample tasks to demonstrate review accuracy. Work is delivered in batches: you’ll examine audio and AI outputs, submit pass/fail judgments, annotate errors, and flag problematic segments following project guidelines.

Specific tooling and payment details will be provided during onboarding. OpenTrain AI will hire and contract reviewers directly for this project.

  • Apply with an OpenTrain account (free) and complete the project's onboarding tasks.
  • You’ll receive reviewer guidelines and sample checks before starting paid work.
  • Expect to review both raw audio and JSON-formatted outputs and to record findings per the project rubric.
