The Radiology AI Subject Matter Expert Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Radiology AI Subject Matter Expert to review AI-generated radiology and medical-imaging responses, create expert imaging content, and evaluate clinical reasoning. You will focus on accuracy, safety, clear step-by-step problem solving, and contextual fit.

The work covers imaging appropriateness, modality selection, protocol choices, differential diagnosis reasoning, incidental findings logic, and patient-safety considerations. You will also fact-check imaging details, write high-quality explanations and model solutions, and compare multiple AI responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

What You’ll Do

You will apply professional radiology judgment to assess and improve AI-generated content. Your written feedback should clearly explain the correct reasoning and identify better next-step decisions.

  • Review AI-generated radiology and medical-imaging responses for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt
  • Create detailed prompts and gold-standard answers covering imaging appropriateness, protocols, differential diagnosis, and radiology reporting concepts
  • Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve clinical correctness, safety, clarity, and contextual fit
  • Test AI outputs for unsafe imaging recommendations, inaccuracies, and bias across patient populations and use cases
  • Provide precise written feedback explaining correct reasoning and better next-step decisions
  • Fact-check medical explanations and imaging details for clinical accuracy

Required Qualifications

This role requires advanced clinical training and professional radiology experience. Candidates must be able to translate clinical presentations into appropriate imaging strategies, prioritize differentials, and identify safety risks in AI-generated recommendations.

  • MD or DO with completed Radiology residency and board eligibility or certification
  • At least 5 years of professional radiology experience in academic, community, teleradiology, or subspecialty practice
  • Strong clinical reasoning for imaging appropriateness, modality selection, and differential diagnosis
  • Deep understanding of imaging modalities, tradeoffs, limitations, artifacts, and protocol impacts
  • Excellent safety judgment regarding contrast reactions, nephrotoxicity, pregnancy, anticoagulation, and radiation dose principles
  • C1 English proficiency and strong attention to detail when fact-checking medical explanations
  • Ability to compare AI radiology answers for correctness and reasoning quality

Preferred Experience

Prior experience with AI training or medical content review is strongly preferred. Experience in related quality and editorial workflows can help you evaluate model outputs consistently and explain clinical corrections precisely.
