About AI Training Work
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Technical experts solve, review, rate, and explain challenging material so AI systems can produce more accurate and reliable responses in specialized fields.
This project focuses on evaluating advanced physics reasoning. Prior AI training experience is not required because the work emphasizes demonstrated expertise in quantum optics and quantum information science.
The Quantum Optics AI Training Expert Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Quantum Optics AI Training Expert to benchmark advanced physics concepts for next-generation AI systems. Depending on your specialization and demonstrated ability, your contributions may involve solving, auditing, or adjudicating research-focused work.
The work is remote and conducted in English. The opportunity is listed as entry level in the project information, while the technical requirements call for an advanced degree or equivalent expertise in the relevant fields.
- Contractor and part-time engagement
- Approximately 10 hours per week
- Expected project duration of 8 to 10 weeks
- Advertised rate of $80 to $160 per hour
- Remote opportunity subject to the project’s listed country eligibility
What You’ll Do
You will analyze, model, and assess theoretical and experimental scenarios involving cascaded optical parametric amplifiers and SU(1,1) interferometric systems under realistic loss conditions.
- Apply Bogoliubov transformations and covariance-matrix techniques to quantify quantum correlations and noise.
- Derive and interpret sideband photocurrent spectra using homodyne detection methods.
- Implement and critique optical loss models based on fictitious beamsplitters.
- Use squeeze-parameter hyperbolic identities to assess entanglement and squeezing performance.
- Benchmark technical reasoning against theoretical and experimental quantum optics scenarios.
- Solve, audit, or adjudicate research-focused work according to your specialization and demonstrated ability.
Required Qualifications
You should bring advanced academic or equivalent professional expertise in atomic, molecular, and optical physics, quantum optics, or quantum information science. Strong command of the listed formalisms and experimental concepts is essential.
- Advanced degree or equivalent expertise in AMO physics, quantum optics, or quantum information science.
- Ability to apply Bogoliubov transformations and covariance-matrix methods.
- Practical understanding of homodyne detection and sideband photocurrent spectra.
- Experience modeling optical loss with fictitious beamsplitters and analyzing quantum noise.
- Ability to use squeeze-parameter identities to interpret entanglement and two-mode squeezing.
Helpful Background
The following experience can support technical analysis and strengthen your fit for the project, although the core requirements center on quantum optics expertise.
- Experience with cascaded parametric amplifiers.
- Experience with SU(1,1) interferometry.
- Experience with two-mode squeezing.
- Familiarity with Python, SymPy, Jupyter, or LaTeX.
- Research or experimental experience applying squeeze-parameter hyperbolic identities.
