About AI training work in PR & communications
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building AI: reviewers judge model outputs and create high-quality examples that teach better behavior. In PR and communications projects, that work focuses on message clarity, tone, risk sensitivity, and media readiness.
This role sits at the intersection of professional communications and model evaluation: you will audit AI-written materials, score responses, and produce authoritative rewrites and templates that guide the model toward defensible, stakeholder‑fit messaging.
Hands-on, remote, and flexible work that directly shapes public-facing AI outputs.
Combines evaluation (rating) tasks with text generation (writing gold-standard examples).
The role
OpenTrain is hiring a PR and Communications AI Training Expert to review and improve AI-generated communications across product launches, incident response, and policy changes. This is a short-term, hourly, remote contractor role.
You will judge clarity, accuracy, tone, stakeholder fit, narrative coherence, media readiness, reputational risk, compliance sensitivity, and crisis-response logic, then produce polished assets that serve as training gold standards.
Employment type: Contractor, part-time.
Data type: Text. Labeling tasks: evaluation rating and text generation.
What you'll do
Work includes both evaluative and creative tasks: rate model outputs for effectiveness and correctness, identify risks and factual issues, and write best-in-class communications examples that models should emulate.
Review AI-generated PR and communications for clarity, accuracy, tone, stakeholder fit, and prompt adherence.

Fact-check statements when needed and explain what should change.

Rate and compare multiple model responses and provide precise written feedback to improve quality.
Requirements
You must bring professional PR or communications experience plus strong editorial judgment. Preserve these required qualifications.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
5+ years of professional PR or communications experience in agency or in-house settings.
Proven experience producing press releases, media pitches, bylines, statements, talking points, internal comms, or executive notes.
Strong command of message development, proof points, objection handling, Q&A frameworks, and tone control.
Ability to evaluate outputs for accuracy, defensibility, reputational risk, compliance sensitivity, and crisis messaging.
Strong editing and QA skills and minimum C1 English proficiency.
Prior experience with AI data training, editorial QA, newsroom workflows, or comms review is strongly preferred.
