The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Postman API Testing Task Specialist for a remote hourly contractor opportunity. You will design realistic computer-based Postman workflows that train advanced AI models to understand practical API testing and developer-tool usage.

This is an entry-level opportunity with a 20+ hour per week time requirement. The role is available to contractors in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan, with an advertised rate of up to $20 per hour in each country.

What You'll Do

You will create reproducible Postman tasks with clear goals, setup steps, endpoints, payloads, and expected outcomes. You will also prepare the supporting materials needed to make each workflow realistic, safe, and understandable.

Each workflow should reflect practical API testing and troubleshooting. You will record yourself completing the tasks, verify that recordings do not reveal sensitive information, and review documentation and recordings for completeness, clarity, realism, and safety.

• Design tasks involving API requests, headers, parameters, authentication, environments, collections, and variables.
• Create workflows using test scripts, response validation, documentation, mock APIs, and import and export processes.
• Prepare test APIs, sample payloads, references, and safe credentials or tokens.
• Use developer tools and API documentation to build realistic testing environments.
• Record task completion and check recordings for exposed sensitive information.
• Review documentation and recordings for quality, clarity, completeness, realism, and safety.
• Troubleshoot API workflows and confirm that tasks produce reproducible outcomes.

Requirements

Hands-on Postman experience is required, including experience with API requests, testing, collections, environments, variables, authentication, documentation, or debugging. You should be able to prepare a suitable testing environment and create technical tasks that another person can reproduce.

You must understand core API concepts and be comfortable handling credentials securely. English proficiency at B2 level or higher, careful attention to detail, reliable self-directed work, and comfort with computer-based screen recording are also required.

• Hands-on experience with Postman API requests, collections, environments, variables, authentication, testing, documentation, or debugging.
• Strong understanding of HTTP methods, URLs, headers, query parameters, request bodies, status codes, authentication, and response validation.
• Ability to design realistic, reproducible API testing tasks with clear goals, setup steps, endpoints, payloads, and expected outcomes.
• Ability to use developer tools and API documentation while preparing a suitable testing environment.
• Careful handling of credentials and tokens.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Reliable self-directed work and strong attention to detail.
• Comfort with computer-based screen recording.

Helpful Background
