Build skills in data annotation, QA, and model evaluation while working on cutting-edge generative AI.
About AI training and this work
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building AI: people review, rate, and correct model outputs so systems learn to produce better responses. This role focuses on evaluating Portuguese text and AI-generated content for clarity, correctness, and guideline compliance.
You will directly influence how language models understand and respond in European Portuguese.
Work is remote, often part-time, and accessible to contributors with strong language skills and attention to detail.
The Role
As a Portuguese QA Annotator you will review and score Portuguese-language data and AI outputs for quality and guideline alignment. This is contract, part-time work with flexible hours (less than 20 hours per week).
Data type: Text — tasks include evaluation ratings and text-generation review.
What you'll do day to day
You will audit completed labels, correct errors, classify text, tag entities and sentiment, and write concise reviewer notes. You’ll follow detailed written rubrics and occasionally review sensitive or safety-related content.
Score AI-generated Portuguese text for accuracy, fluency, and appropriateness.
Correct or re-label text where outputs do not meet guidelines.
Tag entities, sentiment, or other required labels according to project instructions.
Provide clear, structured feedback and suggest improvements to guidelines when needed.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the language, location, experience, and technical requirements below to be considered.
Current residence in Portugal (applicants must live in Portugal).
Native or C1 proficiency in European Portuguese.
English proficiency of B2 or higher.
At least 1 year of experience in data annotation, labeling, model evaluation, or QA.
Comfort following detailed written guidelines and applying consistent rubrics.
Ability to write clear, constructive reviewer notes in Portuguese.
Comfortable reviewing occasional sensitive or safety-related content.
Reliable computer and stable internet for web-based annotation tools.
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred (not required).
Who should apply
This project is a good fit for language-focused annotators, QA professionals, and annotators with Portuguese expertise who want flexible, part-time contract work. You should enjoy careful, structured review and providing actionable feedback.
Ideal for contributors seeking under-20-hour weekly commitments.
Suitable for intermediate-level annotators with prior QA or annotation experience.
Good opportunity for people building careers in generative-AI evaluation and RLHF-style work.
