About AI Training and LLM Evaluation

Large language models learn and improve through carefully designed examples and reviews from people. In this role, your political analysis will help assess whether AI-generated answers are accurate, logically sound, complete, current, relevant, and appropriately nuanced.

Human evaluators are essential to building reliable AI. Their feedback helps identify hallucinations, weak reasoning, outdated information, and difficult edge cases that automated systems may miss.

  • Work directly on the human side of AI development
  • Evaluate text generated by large language models
  • Help shape how AI handles political and policy-related topics

The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Politics Domain Expert to evaluate and improve large language models through expertise in political science and governance. You will review responses across elections, public policy, international relations, political institutions, comparative politics, and related areas.

This is a specialized independent contractor assignment requiring rigorous political analysis, reliable research practices, objective judgment, and evidence-backed reviews. The contract lasts eight weeks and is remote.

What You’ll Do

You will create demanding evaluation material, assess model-generated political content, and document findings clearly enough to support model improvement. Reviews should be consistent, well reasoned, and supported by reliable references.

  • Create challenging prompts covering political science, governance, elections, public policy, and international relations.
  • Evaluate AI-generated answers for factual accuracy, reasoning quality, completeness, nuance, and relevance.

  • Maintain consistent annotation quality and clear documentation.

Required Qualifications

This role requires advanced knowledge of political systems, governance, elections, public policy, international relations, political institutions, comparative politics, and current global political developments. You should be able to apply that knowledge across varied topics and assess both factual content and the quality of an answer’s reasoning.

The role description requires a master’s degree or higher in any field and at least three years of relevant experience. Relevant backgrounds include political research, public policy, government, political consulting, academia, journalism, international affairs, think tanks, or a related area.
