  • Work remotely from anywhere worldwide with a computer and internet connection.
  • Help shape how advanced AI systems understand and respond to complex policy questions.
  • Use your existing expertise in political systems, public policy, and evidence-based analysis.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Political Policy AI Evaluation Expert to create, evaluate, and improve challenging tasks that reflect the work of political scientists and policy analysts. You will support AI training through expert task creation, gold-standard solution development, output calibration, and quality review.

The work requires applying knowledge of political systems research, public policy, regulatory-impact analysis, stakeholder interests, and professional judgment to produce reliable, actionable evaluation materials.

  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Work location: Worldwide and remote
  • Primary language: English
  • Data type: Text
  • Work areas: Text generation and evaluation rating

What You'll Do

You will research political systems, assess public policies using relevant evidence, and translate complex findings into clear recommendations for governments, organizations, or decision-makers. You will also help establish consistent standards for evaluating difficult policy-analysis outputs.

  • Produce high-difficulty expert tasks in political policy analysis.
  • Develop gold-standard solutions and practical, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Conduct regulatory-impact analysis across economic, social, legal, and operational dimensions.
  • Perform stakeholder analysis and weigh competing interests.
  • Review and calibrate team members' output while maintaining quality.
  • Escalate genuine edge cases and ambiguities in evaluation rubrics to the appropriate expert lead.

Requirements

Candidates should have approximately 5 to 15 years of professional experience in policy analysis, political science, public administration, government affairs, or a closely related field. The project is classified as entry level in the opportunity data, but the role itself requires substantial professional experience and advanced academic preparation.

An advanced degree such as an MPP, MPA, PhD, or equivalent postgraduate qualification in public policy, political science, economics, public administration, or a closely related field is required. A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field is also required as an educational or professional background qualification and does not replace the advanced-degree requirement.

  • Strong expertise in regulatory-impact analysis, stakeholder analysis, competing interests, and practical recommendations.
  • Ability to create rigorous expert tasks and gold-standard solutions.
  • Ability to translate complex evidence into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, policy knowledge, and sound professional judgment.
