OpenTrain is seeking a Physics AI Training Specialist to support model training with advanced physics expertise. You will analyze physics data, concepts, and scenarios; develop and refine technical content and problem sets; review model outputs for scientific accuracy; and identify opportunities to improve training quality.

This is a remote, part-time contractor position available worldwide. The expected commitment is fewer than 20 hours per week, with compensation of $80 to $90 per hour.

What You'll Do

You will combine advanced physics knowledge with careful analytical judgment to produce high-quality training inputs and actionable feedback. The work includes both creating technical material and evaluating how well AI models respond to complex scientific questions.

  • Analyze physics data, concepts, and scenarios for AI training
  • Generate, review, and refine advanced physics content and problem sets
  • Provide expert feedback on complex questions and model outputs
  • Translate technical physics theories and phenomena into clear explanations
  • Identify quality gaps and recommend improvements to training data and outputs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align deliverables with project goals

Requirements

This role requires doctoral-level physics expertise and the ability to communicate sophisticated scientific ideas clearly to both technical and general audiences. Experience creating or reviewing educational or technical physics materials is important for assessing accuracy and improving model performance.

  • PhD in Physics from an accredited institution, or equivalent doctoral-level training
  • Strong knowledge of theoretical and applied physics
  • Experience creating or reviewing technical physics materials
  • Clear written and verbal communication of complex scientific concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound judgment when evaluating model outputs and improving training data
  • Comfort working in evolving project environments
  • Interest or familiarity with AI, data science, or digital training environments is helpful
