About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect expert contributors with specialized, remote projects so you can develop an AI-training portfolio and grow a durable freelance career.

OpenTrain AI is the hiring organization for this role. We run contractor engagements that let experienced professionals apply domain knowledge directly to improving how AI systems reason about real-world problems.

  • Platform focus: AI training and data-labeling work across industries
  • Work style: remote, contractor-based, flexible schedules

About AI training work in pharmacy

AI training (data labeling/annotation and human feedback) is the human side of building trustworthy AI. For pharmacy, contributors evaluate AI medication recommendations, check dosing and interactions, and create example responses that teach models safe, guideline-based reasoning.

This work is accessible, cutting-edge, and often part-time—ideal for licensed pharmacists who want remote, meaningful work that directly improves patient safety and therapeutic guidance in AI systems.

  • Contribute to model safety, accuracy, and patient-centered counseling
  • Flexible, remote, and highly specialized contract work

The role — what you'll do day to day

As a Pharmacist AI Evaluation SME you will review AI-generated medication and pharmacy responses, create gold-standard model answers, and provide detailed feedback that improves clinical reasoning and safety. Work is hourly, remote, and contractor-based.

Tasks combine hands-on clinical judgment with structured evaluation: you will spot medication errors, write model solutions, compare multiple model outputs, and help author prompts and test cases that surface unsafe recommendations or bias.

  • Review AI medication and pharmacy answers for accuracy, clarity, safety, and prompt adherence
  • Identify errors in dosing, interactions, contraindications, monitoring, and counseling
  • Write high-quality explanations and gold-standard pharmacy responses showing correct clinical reasoning
  • Rate and compare multiple model responses for correctness, safety, and reasoning quality (EVALUATION_RATING, TEXT_GENERATION, RLHF)
  • Create detailed prompts, test cases, and content for medication-safety topics; test for unsafe or biased outputs

Requirements — what you must bring

You must have strong, documented pharmacy experience and advanced clinical reasoning skills. All listed qualifications below are required for consideration and will be checked during onboarding.

This is an expert-level role that requires autonomous, detail-oriented work in a contractor setup.

  • PharmD or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Pharmacy with active pharmacist licensure or eligibility
  • Minimum 5 years professional pharmacy practice experience
  • Confident pharmacotherapy reasoning across indication selection, dosing, titration, monitoring, and deprescribing
  • Strong grounding in pharmacology, therapeutics, guideline-based therapy, medication reconciliation, and patient care workflows
  • Exceptional attention to detail for fact-checking drug content, spotting contraindications, interactions, and lab misinterpretation
  • Minimum C1 English proficiency
  • Prior experience with AI data training, medication-use evaluation, drug information, clinical documentation review, PBM/managed care review, or healthcare editorial QA is strongly preferred

Who should apply

Ideal applicants are experienced pharmacists from community, hospital, ambulatory care, clinical pharmacy, managed care, or related settings who enjoy detailed clinical review and teaching through writing.

You should be comfortable evaluating internal consistency (timelines, physiology, dosing units, formulation selection) and working independently in an hourly remote contractor workflow across time zones.

  • Expert pharmacists who want flexible, remote, impactful work improving AI safety
  • Professionals experienced in drug information, medication-safety programs, or clinical guideline application

Compensation, hours, and logistics

This is a contractor, part-time engagement requiring 20+ hours per week. Pay is hourly at USD 35–65/hour depending on experience and assignment complexity.
