In this role, OpenTrain AI is hiring and contracting with an experienced pharmacy professional to help improve the quality, safety, and clinical reasoning of advanced AI systems.

About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Subject-matter experts review model outputs, write high-quality examples, compare responses, and provide feedback that helps AI systems become more accurate and reliable.

Your pharmacy judgment will help shape how AI handles medication questions, pharmacotherapy decisions, safety concerns, and patient-care scenarios. The work is remote, flexible, and part of a rapidly growing technology field.

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Pharmacist AI Evaluation Subject Matter Expert to review AI-generated medication and pharmacy responses and improve clinical reasoning quality in model outputs. The role focuses on pharmacotherapy reasoning, dosing logic, contraindications, drug interactions, monitoring, patient counseling, fact-checking, and written feedback.

This is a remote, hourly contractor position for an expert contributor who can apply careful clinical judgment across therapeutics, drug information, and medication safety topics. The expected commitment is 20 or more hours per week.

  • Pay: $35-$65 per hour
  • Work arrangement: Remote, hourly contractor
  • Schedule: Part time, 20+ hours per week
  • Experience level: Expert
  • Primary language: English, minimum C1 proficiency

What You'll Do

You will evaluate written AI outputs for correctness, clarity, safety, and adherence to the prompt. You will also create expert pharmacy content and detailed feedback that demonstrates sound clinical reasoning.

  • Review AI-generated medication and pharmacy answers for accuracy, clarity, safety, and prompt adherence.
  • Identify errors in pharmacotherapy reasoning, dosing, interactions, monitoring, contraindications, and patient counseling.
  • Write high-quality explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct clinical reasoning.
  • Rate and compare multiple model responses based on correctness, safety, and reasoning quality.
  • Create detailed prompts and gold-standard pharmacy responses for therapeutics and medication safety topics.
  • Test AI outputs for unsafe recommendations, misleading assumptions, and bias across use cases and patient populations.
  • Check internal consistency in timelines, physiology, dosing units, and formulation selection.

Requirements

This role requires substantial pharmacy training and professional experience. Candidates should be able to evaluate medication-related content independently, recognize subtle clinical risks, and explain why a response is or is not appropriate.

  • PharmD or bachelor's or master's degree in Pharmacy.
  • Active pharmacist licensure or eligibility.
  • At least 5 years of professional pharmacy practice experience.
  • Strong grounding in pharmacology, therapeutics, and medication safety.
  • Confident pharmacotherapy reasoning across indication selection, dosing, titration, monitoring, and deprescribing.
  • Strong understanding of guideline-based therapy, medication reconciliation, and patient care workflows.
  • Exceptional attention to detail when fact-checking drug content and identifying contraindications, interactions, and lab misinterpretation.
  • Minimum C1 English proficiency.

Helpful Background

Experience in a range of pharmacy environments can be valuable for evaluating different patient-care workflows and medication-use scenarios. Prior experience in AI training or content quality work is preferred but not required unless otherwise stated.

  • Community, hospital, ambulatory care, clinical pharmacy, managed care, or similar experience.
  • Prior experience with AI data training, medication-use evaluation, drug information, clinical documentation review, PBM or managed care review, or healthcare editorial quality assurance.
  • Comfort evaluating medication content for internal consistency across timelines, physiology, dosing units, and formulation selection.
  • Reliable, self-directed work style in an hourly remote contractor workflow across time zones.
