The OBS Studio Task Recording Specialist Role

OpenTrain is seeking an OBS Studio Task Recording Specialist to create realistic computer-based tasks involving screen recording and streaming software. You will plan practical workflows, prepare your recording environment, complete tasks on your own computer, and provide clear context and documentation for every submission.

The role is well suited to a reliable, self-directed specialist who can prepare an accurate recording environment and deliver technically consistent work across time zones. The experience level is entry level, but strong practical OBS Studio knowledge is required.

What You’ll Do

You will design challenging OBS Studio tasks that reflect real recording, streaming, tutorial, content creation, and troubleshooting scenarios. Each workflow should represent an authentic computer-based task with a clear intended outcome.

You will record yourself completing workflows and document the goals, steps, context, settings, files, and notes. You will also review recordings and submissions for clarity, completeness, realism, and adherence to quality guidelines.

• Create tasks involving display capture, window capture, overlays, output settings, recording profiles, hotkeys, and audio configuration
• Prepare the recording environment and execute workflows on your own computer
• Document task goals, instructions, settings, files, context, and completion notes
• Review recordings for clarity, completeness, realism, and quality compliance
• Demonstrate practical recording, streaming, tutorial, content creation, and troubleshooting workflows

Required Skills

You must have strong working knowledge of OBS Studio, including capture sources, audio controls, recording settings, output formats, hotkeys, and profiles. You should be able to diagnose technical problems and explain the intended outcome and execution of each task clearly.

Careful environment preparation, technically accurate execution, and detailed documentation are important. English proficiency at B2 level or higher is required to understand instructions, document work, and communicate clearly.

• Diagnose black captures, frozen frames, stuttering, and capture-permission issues
