About OpenTrain AI

OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. OpenTrain is the centralized platform where people build careers in AI training and data labeling—discover projects, build a profile, and grow freelance work in a fast-growing tech field.

We focus on making specialized AI training work accessible and sustainable for clinical experts. Contributors help shape how AI systems behave while working remotely and flexibly.

About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building AI systems: experts annotate, evaluate, and improve model outputs so AI can make safer, more useful recommendations. This role places nurses at the center of that process—reviewing clinical responses, creating gold-standard answers, and providing precise feedback that improves care-focused AI behavior.

These roles are remote, often part-time, and accessible to professionals with relevant domain expertise rather than prior AI engineering experience.

Role Overview

You will review and rate AI-generated nursing and clinical-care responses, write high-quality model answers, and provide expert explanations where needed. Work focuses on clinical assessment, triage and escalation decisions, medication safety, infection control, patient education, and care planning.

OpenTrain AI hires this role as an hourly remote contractor. The position is remote-first and expects focused expert review and content creation for clinical AI systems.

  • Work type: Hourly remote contractor (part-time)
  • Time: 20+ hours per week
  • Pay: USD $40–$65 per hour

What You'll Do

You will perform detailed clinical review of AI outputs and produce or edit expert content to improve model performance. Tasks include rating correctness and safety, writing gold-standard responses, and explaining nursing reasoning clearly and concisely.

Work maps to standard AI-training tasks (evaluation/rating, RLHF-style feedback, and prompt-response writing/SFT).

  • Review AI-generated nursing and clinical-care answers for accuracy, safety, and clarity
  • Identify and explain errors in triage, escalation, assessment, medication safety, infection control, and patient education
  • Write high-quality model answers and gold-standard explanations across nursing topics
  • Compare and rank multiple AI responses for safety, correctness, and contextual relevance
  • Fact-check clinical details and ensure internal consistency in timelines, symptoms, monitoring, and dosing logic

Requirements

All role facts below come from the hiring brief and are required for consideration. Candidates must demonstrate these qualifications and capabilities.

  • RN or equivalent nursing qualification with active licensure, registration, or eligibility in at least one jurisdiction
  • 3 to 5+ years of professional nursing experience in a clinical or community setting
  • Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, handoff, and triage judgment at the nursing level
  • Solid understanding of common disease processes and nursing interventions across acute and outpatient settings
  • Minimum C1 English proficiency

Preferred Experience & Helpful Background

The following backgrounds make you especially competitive but are not strict requirements unless specified in a given task or project.

  • Experience with AI data training, clinical documentation review, utilization review, nursing education, or healthcare editorial QA
  • Familiarity with SBAR documentation and handoff standards
  • Comfort with medication safety practices, infection control principles, and patient education
  • Experience checking internal consistency in timelines, monitoring frequencies, and nursing-level dosing logic

How It Works — Logistics & Next Steps

This is contractor work with remote-first collaboration across time zones. OpenTrain AI will engage you on part-time contracts; tasks will be delivered through the platform and include text-based reviews, ratings, and writing assignments.

Candidates should be available for 20+ hours per week and be able to communicate clearly in English. The project accepts applicants in the listed countries but is not worldwide-open; confirm eligibility during onboarding.

  • Labeling data type: Text
  • Labeling tasks: RLHF feedback, evaluation/rating, prompt-response writing (SFT)
  • Languages: English (C1 required)
  • Eligible countries in the brief include VN, TL, TH, SG, PK, PH, NP, MY, LK, KH, ID, BT, BD, IN, BR, DE, US
