About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help contributors discover projects, build a unified AI training portfolio, and grow freelance careers working on real AI systems.

OpenTrain connects people to flexible, remote opportunities where language and cultural expertise directly shape how artificial intelligence understands the world.

Why AI training work matters

AI training (data labeling / annotation) is the human side of building modern models: people create and review the examples models learn from. Language work—transcription, translation, annotation, and evaluation—ensures models understand meaning, tone, and cultural nuance.

This role puts you on the front lines of that work, helping models handle Myanmar and English accurately and respectfully across real-world video content.

About the role

OpenTrain is hiring Myanmar bilingual reviewers for a remote, contract, part-time role focused on video-language review. Work includes transcription, translation, linguistic analysis, and content annotation for AI training.

This is entry-level friendly but requires strong language skills and cultural knowledge. Contributors must be able to work independently, follow detailed guidelines, and collaborate with a distributed team.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Time commitment: At least 15 hours/week; project classified as less than 20 hours/week
  • Location: Remote — worldwide

What you'll do

You will produce high-quality written outputs from video content and annotate linguistic features that help models learn. Tasks span detailed transcription, emotional and contextual analysis, and structured labeling.

  • Transcribe video content with precise timestamps and detailed accuracy
  • Identify emotional undertones, speaker expressiveness, tone, and pragmatic cues
  • Analyze grammar, contextual meaning, and dialogue flow in Myanmar and English
  • Define and clarify complex terms with cultural nuance and bilingual explanations
  • Create annotations for NER/classification, write short text-generation samples, and provide evaluation ratings
  • Follow project guidelines and collaborate with a remote team to deliver consistent labels

Requirements

The role requires language precision, cultural knowledge, and a careful approach to complex language data. Preserve accuracy and document decisions clearly.

  • Exceptional proficiency in Myanmar and English, written and verbal
  • Experience with transcription, translation, or linguistic analysis
  • Strong understanding of Myanmar cultural cues and linguistic variation
  • Careful attention to detail when working with complex language data
  • Ability to manage remote work independently and document findings clearly
  • Availability to contribute at least 15 hours per week

Helpful background and who should apply

Prior experience in media localization, video content analysis, or academic training in linguistics/translation will help you move faster, but the role is open to entry-level contributors who meet the language and quality requirements.

  • Video content analysis or media localization experience is a plus
  • Academic background in linguistics, translation, or related fields is helpful
  • Familiarity with language technology tools and content management systems is beneficial

Compensation, tools, and how it works

This is a pay-per-hour contract role commissioned by OpenTrain. Contributors use a project-specific labeling platform (proprietary / OTHER) and follow detailed annotation guidelines.

OpenTrain helps you apply, track projects, and build a portfolio of your AI training work.

  • Pay: $45–$95 USD per hour (pay-per-hour contract)
  • Data type: Video (transcription, evaluation, NER, text-generation examples)
  • Labeling software: Project uses a proprietary / other platform
  • Typical deliverables: timestamped transcripts, emotion/tone notes, contextual glosses, NER/classification labels, and evaluation ratings
