About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human layer that helps AI learn. Tasks range from transcribing audio to evaluating model outputs; this project focuses on music-text evaluation.

This kind of work is often fully remote, flexible, and accessible to people with language skills or domain interest — it can be a great part-time role alongside other commitments.

The Role

You will read long English song lyrics and listen to two different music tracks that represent different musical styles. For each item, select which track best matches the lyrics and write a concise explanation of your choice.

This is an entry-level, part-time contractor role open to candidates located in the Philippines. The project pays up to $3.15 USD per hour and typically requires 20+ hours per week.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

Work through batches of lyric+audio pairs, comparing fit and writing clear reasons for your choice. Accuracy and clear explanations are essential.

• Read full song lyrics and understand overall mood, themes, and lyrical cues.
• Listen to two music tracks and assess which better matches the lyrics’ tone, tempo, and emotion.
• Select the preferred track and provide a short written explanation in English describing your reasoning.
• Use evaluation ratings where requested to indicate the strength of the match.
• Follow project guidelines for length, clarity, and format of responses.

Requirements

• Minimum English comprehension: CEFR B1 or B2 — you must state your CEFR level in applications.
• Ability to write clear, concise explanations in English.
• Familiarity with a variety of music genres is preferred (helps with judgment).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to compare musical fit analytically and creatively.
• Reliable internet connection and the ability to work remotely from the Philippines.
• Availability to work 20+ hours per week as a contractor.
• Pay: up to $3.15 USD per hour.

Interview Tips

The project’s interview approach favors open-ended questions that reveal skill and experience rather than simple yes/no answers. Follow the guidelines below when assessing candidates or preparing your application.

• Ask applicants to state their English level in CEFR format (e.g., B1, B2) rather than asking yes/no about proficiency.
• Ask what music genres they regularly listen to and why — examples show familiarity and taste breadth.
• Request a short written sample: a brief explanation (1–3 sentences) of why a particular track fits a sample lyric.
