  • Contractor and part-time engagement
  • Based in Spain
  • Less than 20 hours per week
  • Pay: $25 USD per hour

About AI Training in Audio

AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. People review, classify, and evaluate examples so that AI systems can learn how to perform useful tasks accurately and consistently.

In this project, your audio expertise will help improve AI systems designed for music-industry applications, including audio production, sound design, and music mastering.

  • Work with audio data and evaluation tasks
  • Contribute to tools for musicians, producers, and audio engineers
  • Help improve the quality and real-world usefulness of AI models

The Role

As a Music Fit Evaluation Specialist, you will annotate, categorize, and evaluate audio data across a variety of music genres. Your judgments and feedback will help assess whether AI-generated or AI-processed audio is suitable for real-world music workflows.

The role is listed at entry level, but applicants must have formal education or professional experience specifically in music production, audio engineering, or a related music field. Experience with non-music audio alone is not sufficient.

  • Data type: audio
  • Task type: evaluation and rating
  • Subject matter: music across a variety of genres
  • English proficiency: minimum B1/B2 CEFR level

What You'll Do

You will review audio examples and apply consistent judgments based on the project's evaluation criteria. You will also document your reasoning and provide insightful feedback that can help improve model performance.

The work requires careful listening, strong technical understanding, and the ability to communicate clearly with a remote project team.

  • Annotate and categorize music audio data
  • Evaluate audio for quality, fit, and effectiveness
  • Apply knowledge of music production, audio tools, and workflows
  • Provide clear, useful feedback for AI model development
  • Complete assigned work accurately and meet project deadlines

Requirements

Applicants should bring a strong foundation in music production or audio engineering, gained through formal education or professional experience. You must be comfortable discussing technical audio workflows and documenting your evaluations in English.

Mixing, mastering, or sound design experience is a plus. You should also be able to collaborate effectively with a remote team and deliver high-quality work in a project-based environment.

  • Formal education or professional experience in music production, audio engineering, or a related music field
  • Advanced technical knowledge of audio tools, production techniques, and workflows
  • Minimum B1/B2 English proficiency, stated using the CEFR format
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality output
  • Willingness to complete a required test project within the next 1 to 3 days
  • Approximately one hour of work is required for the test project

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is a strong fit for music professionals who want to apply their production or audio-engineering knowledge to cutting-edge AI development. It may suit producers, audio engineers, and other specialists with hands-on experience across music workflows and genres.

The project specifically seeks music experience rather than general audio experience unrelated to music. During the interview, be prepared to describe your background and English level in an open-ended way, including your CEFR level.

  • Music producers and audio engineers
  • Professionals with mixing, mastering, or sound design experience
  • Applicants interested in flexible, remote AI-training work
  • Candidates comfortable giving detailed, evidence-based audio feedback

How the Application Works

Apply through OpenTrain and share your relevant music experience, technical background, and English proficiency. If selected to continue, you will be asked to complete the short test project, which takes approximately one hour and must be completed within the next 1 to 3 days.

At the end of the interview, you will be asked to enter your price for the project on the next screen. You may enter any price, but hiring decisions will be based on the most competitive price.

  • Create a free OpenTrain account
  • Submit your application and relevant music experience
  • Complete the required short test project if invited
  • Enter your project price after the interview
  • Work remotely for less than 20 hours per week if selected
