The Music & Sound Annotation Expert Role

As a Music & Sound Annotation Expert, you will annotate 30-90 second field recordings and review AI-generated descriptions for accuracy. The work requires at least three years of hands-on music or audio experience, strong analytical listening skills, and comfort with detailed, repetitive annotation in a web platform.

You will work independently during the engagement window while participating in paid onboarding, calibration, and a short weekly sync.

What You'll Do

You will create detailed annotations and evidence-based evaluations using a web platform. Accuracy, consistency, and clear explanations are important throughout the project.

  • Estimate tempo within a few beats per minute
  • Identify musical key; relative pitch with a reference is acceptable
  • Add timestamps for background events
  • Describe scene details in field recordings
  • Compare paired recordings of the same song across locations
  • Review AI-generated descriptions for accuracy, errors, or invented content
  • Provide brief, evidence-based explanations for your evaluations

Requirements

Applicants must be fluent in English and comfortable discussing their relevant experience for the Music & Sound Annotation Expert role. You should be prepared for focused, repetitive annotation work and able to maintain quality while working independently.
