In this role, your database expertise will help models learn from realistic MongoDB scenarios, including data preparation, querying, troubleshooting, and other developer workflows.

  • Work on practical tasks connected to cutting-edge AI development
  • Use your technical judgment to create realistic and challenging examples
  • Contribute remotely with a flexible contractor schedule

The MongoDB AI Workflow Task Specialist Role

As a MongoDB AI Workflow Task Specialist, you will create realistic computer-based tasks that teach advanced AI models how to understand practical NoSQL database and developer workflows. You will design reproducible scenarios, prepare test environments and sample data, document task context, and record yourself completing each workflow.

The work may involve MongoDB databases, collections, documents, CRUD operations, filtering, aggregation, indexes, imports, exports, query performance, schema inconsistencies, data-type issues, connection problems, and safe deletion workflows.

  • Create practical MongoDB workflow tasks with clear goals and realistic troubleshooting cases
  • Prepare MongoDB or MongoDB Compass environments, test databases, sample data, safe credentials, and references
  • Execute and record workflows in local or cloud database environments
  • Use browser tools, terminals, or MongoDB Compass where relevant
  • Document database and collection details, sample documents, query objectives, steps, and important notes

What You’ll Do

You will take responsibility for the full task lifecycle, from designing a useful database scenario through reviewing the final recording and documentation. The goal is to produce work that is complete, clear, reproducible, realistic, safe, and aligned with task guidelines.

  • Design tasks involving databases, collections, queries, updates, indexes, imports, exports, filtering, or aggregation
  • Prepare test data and confirm that workflows can be completed as documented
  • Record yourself completing database workflows using appropriate computer tools
  • Explain technical context and workflow objectives clearly in English
  • Review recordings and documentation for completeness, clarity, realism, safety, and guideline alignment
  • Diagnose query performance, schema inconsistencies, data-type issues, and connection problems

Required Skills and Qualifications

This is listed as an entry-level opportunity, but it requires hands-on MongoDB experience and the ability to work independently with technical instructions. You should be comfortable creating database tasks, explaining your decisions, and recording computer-based processes carefully.

  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB databases, collections, queries, updates, indexes, and data import or export
  • Practical knowledge of MongoDB Compass, CRUD operations, aggregation basics, document modeling, and safe deletion workflows
  • Strong understanding of BSON or JSON, filters, connection strings, and permissions
  • Ability to design reproducible tasks with clear goals, sample documents, query objectives, and troubleshooting cases
  • Ability to diagnose query performance, schema inconsistencies, data-type issues, and connection problems
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher for understanding instructions and documenting technical workflows
  • Careful, self-directed work habits and comfort recording computer-based processes
