The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Military and Veteran Mental Health AI Training Expert to provide specialized clinical judgment for AI systems in mental health. You will work with mental health materials, case studies, and simulated patient interactions relevant to military and veteran populations.

The work combines clinical review, model feedback, prompt and scenario development, and careful documentation. Particular attention will be given to terminology, cultural context, and communication needs specific to military personnel and veterans.

What You’ll Do

You will assess clinical content and help create realistic, responsible materials for AI training. The role requires clear judgment, sensitivity, and the ability to explain complex clinical ideas in an accessible way.

You will also participate in virtual discussions and consultative sessions to share clinical perspectives, align on project goals, and document recommendations in a structured format.

  • Review mental health materials, case studies, and simulated patient interactions for clinical accuracy, relevance, and sensitivity.
  • Analyze AI-related content against clinical best practices, diagnostic processes, and therapeutic approaches.
  • Create, edit, and curate prompts, responses, and scenarios reflecting real-world challenges experienced by military and veteran patients.
  • Identify domain-specific terminology, cultural nuances, and communication techniques that support effective mental health guidance.
  • Participate in virtual discussions and consultative sessions about clinical perspectives and project goals.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and potential model improvements clearly and accessibly.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have completed a psychiatry residency or completed a PhD as a clinical psychologist, along with substantial direct patient-care experience with military personnel, veterans, or both.
