About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People with practical expertise create realistic examples, review model behavior, and explain which decisions meet professional standards so AI systems can become more capable and reliable.

This role focuses on evaluating AI agents through simulated marketing operations environments. Your judgment will help distinguish work that is professionally sound from responses that merely appear plausible.

The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Marketing Operations AI Training Expert to design and pressure-test high-fidelity simulated work environments used to evaluate and improve AI agents. You will translate real marketing operations experience into realistic briefs, artifacts, tool states, and judgment calls.

Scenarios may represent workflows across email, storage, CRM, project management, social media, analytics, advertising, content management, product analytics, and support tools. This is a worldwide, part-time contractor role requiring 20 or more hours per week, with work conducted in English.

The listed pay range is $60 to $100 per hour, with a maximum hourly rate of $100.

  • Employment type: Contractor and part-time
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Location: Worldwide and remote
  • Working language: English
  • Pay: $60-$100 per hour

What You'll Do

You will create realistic, multi-step marketing operations scenarios and evaluate AI agent attempts against practitioner standards. The work calls for careful analysis of messy data, competing priorities, process dependencies, and decisions that affect marketing and sales operations.

You will also develop scenarios involving lead routing, workflow design, campaign operations, agency and process transitions, and coordination across marketing and sales systems.

  • Design task briefs based on practical marketing operations work
  • Specify documents, dashboards, personas, and tool states for realistic scenarios
  • Write or review reference answers and evaluation criteria
  • Assess AI agent attempts against professional standards
  • Evaluate prioritization, planning, execution, quality assurance, and reconciliation
  • Review triage, escalation, research, reporting, and multi-step orchestration decisions
  • Create scenarios for lead routing, workflow design, and campaign operations

Requirements

You should bring hands-on marketing operations experience building routing rules, workflows, and reporting across CRM and marketing automation systems. Strong written reasoning is essential: you must be able to explain why a decision is correct and apply consistent judgment when reviewing AI-generated work.

You should be fluent with a CRM such as Salesforce and a marketing automation platform, with working knowledge of project tracking tools such as Asana or Linear and support tools such as Zendesk or Intercom.

  • Hands-on marketing operations experience with routing rules, workflows, and reporting
  • CRM and marketing automation experience, including fluency with a CRM such as Salesforce
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Asana, Linear, Zendesk, or Intercom
  • Ability to design realistic multi-tool scenarios, reference answers, and evaluation rubrics
  • Strong written reasoning for evaluating prioritization, QA, reconciliation, triage, escalation, and reporting
  • Experience with AI training environments, reinforcement learning environments, or simulated case studies is strongly preferred
  • Rubric Academy or Rubric Bootcamp certification is strongly preferred

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is suited to marketing operations practitioners who can turn real workflows and professional judgment into structured AI evaluation tasks. The role is marked as entry level, but the stated requirements call for hands-on experience across marketing systems and operations processes.

Apply if you are comfortable reasoning through ambiguous operational situations, documenting what a strong answer should include, and explaining the difference between a technically plausible action and a correct one.

  • Marketing operations specialists with CRM and automation experience
  • Practitioners who have built workflows, routing rules, and reporting systems
  • Clear written communicators who can create and apply evaluation rubrics
  • Professionals interested in AI training, reinforcement learning, or simulated case studies
