The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Malayalam Music Production AI Evaluation Expert to assess generative AI music. You will compare songs against detailed quality standards and classify important musical characteristics.

This is a remote, freelance contractor opportunity with a flexible commitment. The project may last up to six months, and most experts work around 20 hours per week.

What You'll Do

You will use critical listening skills, Malayalam fluency, and professional audio experience to assess AI-generated songs consistently and accurately.

• Compare AI-generated songs head-to-head for musicality, creativity, and prompt adherence
• Evaluate vocal quality and production or mix quality
• Label songs by genre, structure, instruments, vocals, and other musical characteristics
• Review AI-generated lyrics and vocals against reference material for quality and accuracy
• Assess music across a wide range of Malayalam and other genres

Requirements

This role requires strong Malayalam language ability, the capacity to follow detailed written instructions in English, and hands-on professional audio production experience.

• Native or near-native proficiency in Malayalam
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions in English
• At least 2 years of experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or mixing engineer
• Ability to evaluate musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production quality
• Headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening
• Broad familiarity with contemporary Malayalam genres, sub-genres, and artists
