About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. The platform helps people start and grow careers teaching AI by connecting contributors with projects, letting you build a profile, and apply quickly.
Why AI Training Matters
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Modern models learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people — and collecting high-quality facial images is a critical step for many computer-vision systems.
This work is often remote-friendly or locally executed, flexible, and accessible to people and teams with practical field experience rather than advanced technical degrees.
The Role
We are seeking local, on-the-ground teams to perform offline facial image data collection in local areas. Projects are contractor, part-time engagements with flexible schedules under 20 hours per week.
Compensation is hourly at USD $25–30 per hour (paid per hour). Labeling type: data collection of image assets; labeling software is listed as other/client-specified.
- Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
- Hours: Less than 20 hours per week (flexible)
- Pay: USD $25–30 per hour
- Data type: Images (face collection)
- Labeling activity: Data collection (offline/in-person)
What You'll Do
Tasks are field-focused and quality-driven. You will plan and execute in-person facial image collection in assigned local areas and follow project quality-control protocols to ensure usable, diverse datasets.
- Collect facial images across diverse demographics and varied lighting conditions
- Follow strict quality-control and project-specific capture protocols
- Coordinate logistics for local photo sessions and field operations
- Upload or transfer collected images using the client’s specified method or tooling
Requirements
Candidates must be local teams with proven experience executing offline facial data collection projects and the operational ability to meet quality standards. Basic English proficiency is required for reading instructions and communicating with project coordinators.
- Must be a local, on-the-ground team based in the target local area(s)
- Proven experience in offline facial data collection projects
- Ability to handle diverse participant demographics and challenging lighting
- Familiarity with strict quality-control protocols and consistent data capture
- Basic English proficiency for instructions and reporting
Who Should Apply
This opportunity is aimed at field teams (not individual remote annotators) who have experience capturing in-person image datasets and reliable processes for QA. The listing indicates entry-level project accessibility, but the project requires demonstrable team experience in face collection.
- Local teams with prior in-person data-collection experience
- Teams comfortable working on short, part-time contracts
- Organizations or groups able to document past projects or references
