About AI Training Work

AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare and review examples that help models recognize information, interpret interfaces, and respond more effectively to real-world tasks.

In this project, your screenshots will help train models to identify and understand Ubuntu desktop elements, supporting AI assistants that can better help users complete Linux tasks.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Linux Ubuntu 24.04 Desktop Screenshot Collector to capture high-resolution images of the Ubuntu desktop environment for AI training datasets. The work focuses on authentic desktop usage across GNOME and common system applications.

This is an entry-level contractor role for people who already use Linux Ubuntu 24.04 as their primary day-to-day desktop operating system.

What You'll Do

You will capture and submit accurate, high-quality screenshots that reflect real-world use of the Ubuntu desktop. Images should clearly represent the desktop interface and the applications and utilities users commonly access.

• Capture screenshots of the Ubuntu 24.04 desktop and GNOME environment
• Capture screens showing Files, Settings, the terminal, and package management tools
• Ensure every screenshot exceeds 2.5 megapixels in resolution
• Use either one high-resolution monitor or a dual-monitor setup captured as one spanning image
• Submit accurate, high-quality screenshots for the AI training dataset

Requirements

This project requires an existing Ubuntu 24.04 desktop setup and dependable internet access. You should be comfortable navigating the operating system and using its basic utilities.

• Run Linux Ubuntu 24.04 as your primary day-to-day desktop operating system
• Capture screenshots at a resolution greater than 2.5 megapixels
• Know the Ubuntu desktop environment, including basic navigation and system utilities
• Have reliable internet access for submitting screenshots

Helpful Background

Prior professional experience is not required, but the following backgrounds may make the work especially familiar. Comfort with Ubuntu's terminal and package management tools is also helpful.
