About OpenTrain OpenTrain is the centralized, open platform where AI training and data-labeling freelancers find work, consolidate opportunities across platforms, and build a unified AI training portfolio they control. We make specialized AI training work easier to track, apply for, and grow into a durable freelance career.
About this role OpenTrain is recruiting for a Lifecycle Marketing AI Training Expert to design and pressure-test simulated work environments that evaluate AI agents on realistic marketing operations. You will bring practical lifecycle, CRM, and retention marketing judgment to tasks involving contact strategy, milestone campaigns, customer communications, deliverability, list health, and lifecycle portfolio optimization. The role combines hands-on marketing expertise with the design of realistic scenarios, planted problems, decision standards, and evaluation criteria.
What you will do Design task briefs based on real lifecycle or CRM marketing work, including the issue being tested and the decision a strong practitioner should reach. Define the documents, dashboards, personas, and tool states needed to make each scenario realistic. Write or review reference answers and establish criteria that distinguish strong work from plausible but incorrect responses. Evaluate AI agent attempts against expert standards and explain the reasoning behind each judgment. Diagnose messy or conflicting data, prioritize tradeoffs, plan and execute work, perform quality assurance and reconciliation, and support research, evaluation, reporting, triage, escalation, and multi-step coordination across marketing tools.
Required skills You should have hands-on experience owning a lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing sending program and its incrementality. You should understand contact strategy, customer communications, milestone campaigns, deliverability, list health, and lifecycle portfolio optimization. Comfort working across an email service provider, a CRM such as Salesforce, and product analytics such as Amplitude is important. Strong written reasoning and the ability to explain why a marketing decision is correct are required.
Helpful background Experience building AI training environments, reinforcement learning environments, or simulated case studies is strongly preferred. Rubric Academy or Rubric Bootcamp certification is also helpful.
Schedule, location, and pay This is a remote contract role with a default commitment of 20 hours per week. The pay rate is $60‑$100 per hour.
