About OpenTrain OpenTrain is the centralized, open platform where AI training and data-labeling freelancers find work, consolidate opportunities across platforms, and build a unified AI training portfolio they control. We make specialized AI training work easier to track, apply for, and grow into a durable freelance career.
About this role OpenTrain is recruiting for a Japanese AI Safety Evaluation Expert to help improve the safety of advanced AI models. You will create Japanese prompts across sensitive subject areas, assess how models handle those topics, classify prompts and conversations against structured guidelines, and identify adversarial phrasing and escalation patterns. Your written judgments will help evaluate model behavior and support safer AI training data.
What you will do Write expert-level prompts in Japanese covering sensitive and dual-use subject areas. Classify prompts and conversations using structured evaluation guidelines. Flag adversarial wording, escalation patterns, and other safety concerns. Document the reasoning behind classification and safety judgments.
Required skills Native or near-native Japanese fluency and business-level written English are required. You should have strong written reasoning, close attention to detail, and sound judgment when handling sensitive and dual-use information. A bachelor's degree, completed or in progress, is required. Prior AI or machine learning experience is not required.
Helpful background Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content is helpful. Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing is also relevant.
Why work with OpenTrain OpenTrain gives freelancers one place to manage AI training opportunities instead of rebuilding proof of work on every platform.
