The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting remote contractors to create high-quality IntelliJ IDEA coding workflow data for AI training. You will design realistic IDE tasks, prepare the required project environment, document each task, and record yourself completing the workflow.
This is an entry-level contractor opportunity for people with hands-on IntelliJ IDEA experience and practical Java or Kotlin development knowledge. The role requires at least 20 hours per week and is available in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan.

What You'll Do
You will create verifiable coding tasks and prepare reliable environments before recording each workflow. Afterward, you will review your recordings and documentation to ensure they are clear, complete, realistic, and aligned with project guidelines.
Create realistic tasks involving Java or Kotlin projects
Design workflows for debugging, project setup, refactoring, and testing
Work with Maven or Gradle, Git integration, code navigation, and package management
Troubleshoot builds and document practical IDE workflows
Prepare project files, SDKs, dependencies, and references before recording
Configure run environments and record yourself completing each task
Review recordings and documentation for clarity, completeness, and realism
Required Skills and Experience
Hands-on experience using IntelliJ IDEA with Java or Kotlin is required. You should be comfortable explaining technical workflows clearly and working independently in a computer-based development environment.
Java or Kotlin development experience, including backend workflows
Understanding of project structure, SDKs, dependencies, and run configurations
Experience with the IntelliJ IDEA debugger, code navigation, and terminal use
Ability to use Maven or Gradle, testing tools, and version control
Ability to diagnose project setup, build, dependency, SDK, and debugger issues
Ability to manage files, install dependencies, configure an SDK, and prepare a reliable recording environment
Strong written English at B2 level or higher
Strong attention to detail, self-direction, and reliable delivery
Additional Experience
Experience in adjacent technical workflows can be useful when creating realistic and well-documented tasks. These areas are welcome but are not stated as required qualifications.
