This role focuses on structured Inkscape workflows. Your practical vector design knowledge will help create high-quality training material based on realistic software tasks and clearly documented outcomes.

  • Contribute to the development of modern AI systems
  • Apply practical software and design expertise to structured training work
  • Work in a fast-growing field with flexible project opportunities

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an Inkscape Vector Design Task Specialist to support AI training work involving practical vector design workflows. You will create realistic tasks, prepare the necessary files and assets, record yourself completing the work, and document the process clearly.

Prior AI training experience is not required. The most important qualification is strong real-world knowledge of Inkscape and vector design.

  • Experience level: Entry level
  • Subject matter: Inkscape vector design workflows
  • Primary work includes design tasks, SVG files, assets, and workflow recordings

What You'll Do

You will design challenging but realistic Inkscape tasks that reflect practical design, illustration, diagramming, and content-creation workflows. Each submission should be organized, reproducible, understandable, and aligned with project guidelines.

You will also record your computer workflow while demonstrating relevant techniques and review the finished recording and documentation before submission.

  • Create realistic Inkscape tasks based on practical vector design workflows
  • Prepare software environments, files, assets, fonts, images, and references
  • Document task goals, context, steps, files, assets, and expected outcomes
  • Record reproducible workflows on your computer
  • Demonstrate path and node editing, shapes, layers, alignment, text, gradients, clipping, masking, tracing, SVG cleanup, and exports
  • Review recordings and documentation for completeness, clarity, realism, and guideline alignment

Required Skills and Qualifications

You should have hands-on experience using Inkscape for vector graphics, SVG editing, illustration, diagrams, icons, logos, layouts, or export workflows. You must be comfortable producing clean, editable artwork and organizing files so another person can understand and continue working with them.

Strong written communication, attention to detail, reliable self-direction, and the ability to follow detailed instructions are required. English proficiency at B2 level or higher is also required.

  • Hands-on Inkscape experience with paths, nodes, layers, shapes, text, gradients, and SVG editing
  • Ability to choose appropriately between path operations, clipping, masking, and manual node editing
  • Practical judgment when preparing SVG, PDF, and PNG exports for web and print
  • Ability to avoid scaling, stroke, font, and resolution problems in exported files
  • Ability to organize layers, groups, IDs, labels, assets, and reusable styles
  • Ability to record reproducible software workflows and document goals, steps, files, and outcomes
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
  • Strong written communication, careful attention to detail, self-direction, and instruction-following

Additional Experience That Is Welcome

Experience beyond Inkscape can help you create a broader range of realistic tasks and documentation. These backgrounds are welcome but are not stated as required qualifications.
