About AI Training and Data Labeling

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an HTML/CSS Quality Assurance Lead to review AI-generated HTML and CSS code as well as trainer QA work. You will assess semantic correctness, accessibility, responsive design, browser compatibility, CSS architecture, maintainability, and adherence to detailed rubrics.

This is an hourly, remote contractor role for an intermediate-level professional working with HTML/CSS training projects. The position is based in the United States, requires 20 or more hours per week, and pays $80 per hour.

What You'll Do

You will combine detailed frontend review with contributor support, documentation, and process improvement. Your feedback should be accurate, actionable, and clearly explained so contributors can consistently meet project standards.

• Review HTML/CSS snippets, layout implementations, accessibility fixes, debugging responses, and written explanations for correctness and clarity.
• Monitor quality, identify recurring issues, and escalate critical or repeated problems.
• Communicate guideline changes and workflow updates to contributors.
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, trackers, and onboarding materials.
• Support onboarding and training calls for HTML/CSS contributors.
• Flag inaccessible, misleading, invalid, brittle, or non-production-ready frontend recommendations.
• Identify recurring quality gaps and help build scalable QA processes.

Required Skills and Experience

This role requires strong practical HTML and CSS knowledge and the ability to evaluate frontend work against detailed requirements. You should be comfortable explaining technical issues in clear written English and providing feedback that helps others improve.

• Strong HTML and CSS expertise, including semantic markup, forms, tables, ARIA basics, responsive layouts, flexbox, grid, specificity, and the CSS cascade.
• Experience reviewing frontend code or QA output against detailed rubrics.
• Clear written English communication and comfort giving technical feedback.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of reviewers, trainers, or frontend contributors is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with browser DevTools, Lighthouse, WCAG basics, GitHub, and related frontend workflows is preferred.

Helpful Background

Experience in AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, frontend code QA, accessibility review, or rubric-based code review can help you succeed. Familiarity with common design and frontend delivery workflows is also useful.
