The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting an HR Documents Specialist with native-level Japanese and substantial HR documentation experience. You will create, review, and evaluate Japanese HR documents to provide high-quality training signals for AI models that learn HR language, formatting, and compliance.
- Position type: Part-time contractor; remote work with strong preference for US-based residents.

What You'll Do
- Create, review, and analyze HR documents in Japanese (policies, templates, forms, communications).
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce realistic business documents and deliverables.
- Provide evaluation ratings and qualitative feedback on accuracy, clarity, formatting, and cultural appropriateness.
- Ensure documents reflect HR best practices and native-level Japanese business culture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute subject-matter expertise to improve training data quality.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Requirements
- Native-level Japanese proficiency with exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on HR experience creating, managing, or evaluating HR documentation.
- Proven ability to produce professional documents, spreadsheets, and presentations using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Deep understanding of HR practices and documentation requirements for large organizations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate business communication.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently in a remote environment.
Helpful Background
- Experience working with US-based Japanese-speaking teams or clients.
- Previous participation in AI training, data annotation, or digital transformation projects.
- Residence in the United States is strongly preferred for collaboration and scheduling alignment.
Compensation & Work Details
This contract pays between $10 and $55 per hour. You will be engaged as a part-time contractor and can expect tasks that include evaluation ratings and data collection-style document work.
Work will involve client-provided or project annotation tools; you should be comfortable learning and following project-specific guidelines and workflows.
