About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Experts create examples, review model outputs, and develop evaluation criteria that teach AI systems how to produce more useful and reliable responses.

In this role, your HR judgment will help distinguish thoughtful, context-aware recommendations from generic answers. The work is flexible, remote, and directly connected to how advanced AI systems learn to handle professional HR scenarios.

  • Contribute to cutting-edge AI development
  • Work remotely with a flexible schedule
  • Apply real-world professional expertise to model evaluation

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an HR AI Evaluation Task Expert to build evaluation tasks for AI systems operating in talent management, employee relations, and organizational design contexts. You will design realistic HR scenarios, draft reference outputs, and write rubrics that reflect how senior HR leaders think.

The work covers US and international employment law tracks and includes talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, compensation and benefits design, and organizational development.

  • Role focus: HR AI evaluation task design
  • Data type: Text
  • Core work: Text generation and evaluation rating
  • Language: English

What You'll Do

You will create substantive evaluation tasks that test practical HR reasoning rather than basic recall. Your outputs may be used to assess whether AI systems can develop realistic policies, reports, analyses, and organizational recommendations.

  • Construct HR scenarios across talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits design, and organizational development.
  • Build tasks involving HRIS platforms such as Workday and SAP SuccessFactors, applicant tracking systems, and compensation benchmarking tools.
  • Apply workforce planning, compensation benchmarking, and employee relations investigation methodologies.
  • Produce reference HR policies, investigation reports, compensation analyses, and organizational design proposals.
  • Author rubrics that distinguish authentic HR judgment from generic textbook or certification-exam-level recall.
  • Cover US employment law topics such as Title VII, FLSA, ADA, and state law where applicable.
  • Incorporate international employment law contexts, including the UK Employment Rights Act and EU labor directives where applicable.

Requirements

This posting is marked as entry level in the project data, while the role requirements call for substantial senior HR experience. Candidates should review the qualifications carefully before applying.

  • 5+ years as an HR leader or Chief People Officer at a major company or HR consulting firm.
  • Direct ownership of talent programs, employee relations matters, or compensation design.
  • Fluency in HR tooling, including HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and compensation benchmarking tools.
  • Strong understanding of HR methodologies and how employment law compliance works in US and/or international contexts.
  • Recognized professional credential such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or an international equivalent.
  • Prior rubric or training authorship experience is a strong plus.

Schedule and Pay
